I played Hammond organs all my life. B Cv A and H series at roller skating rinks. Drawbar 1 3 4 6 all the way out. The 9th varies … drawbars 2 5 7 8 out to about 3 or 4. The percussion. Drawbar 1. All the way out drawbar 3…. About 5-6 …. The percussion tabs on. Soft. Slow and second. There’s a pedal modification …. On the Hammond. U use the lower A# first drawbar. U can swing the wire from the drawbar to the pedal bus bar …. Gives it a deeper bass sound. I have a 147 Leslie used in accordance with Hammond tone cabinets. And had an engineer make me up a tube jump jig piggyback reverb to the non reverb channel. Giving me reverb in the Leslie. With a variant potentiometer to control reverb

I just watched you playing the B3X program at the IKMultimedia booth at NAMM! You are a very good musician! Are the keyclick and other effects all default or did you adjust them to make a custom sound? If they are custom could you share the settings?

Great vid. I think you meant 'Babyface' Willette, not Freddie Roach with regard to the V settings.

That sounds great. I wonder if the B3-X performs any different with the desktop version vrs. the iPad version? I'll test the difference as I have the PC version and may get the iPad version for convenience of running on the smaller footprint of the iPad. Good straight forward musical settings you show. Thanks, will review those. I use a Leslie Studio 12+ with this app for studio use practice and the dual Leslie really becomes a part of the sound.

I just use it on a stock ipad and it's great with no latency :)

@@briancharette amazing how well this works. No latency. Your settings video is the clearest, shortest helpful B3 settings video I’ve run across. After learning this on my own and studying Joey D’s video lessons, your settings summary should be the go to for anyone jumping into this. It becomes evident that organists used the settings to create their unique sound. On piano we have velocity sensitivity, loud soft control, aka your touch to give you your sound. Organ forces you into simple less complex chords, note choices, note length, note placements, and time. It eliminates the complexity of piano technique making the organ an instrument of its own right. As a pianist I recommend learning to play the organ and your piano playing will improve for your effort. Oh, and no sustain pedal like on piano. That’s a big one. It forces you to hold the note down and make choices as to what sounds at any given time.

Thank you so much, Brian, for your video tutorials. You are a magnificent, fantastic musician and my idol, I admire your playing technique and I always look forward to any new video from you. I have already acquired all your jazz organ and electronic musik lessons at mymusicmasterclass. Each new video from you here and on Instagram is like a breath of fresh air for me! I live in a small town in Russia and, unfortunately, do not speak English, I use an online translator, so please advance to forgive me for my poor English ... I look forward to the next videos! ..

Hi Brian. Love your demo and playing.I am a keys and Hammond player from Sydney, AustraliaI .I recently purchased the B3-X for Mac OS and the iPad version. The promo blurb says that the B3-X works with various Hammond organs with Hammond profile set ups for XK3, XK5 and SK series. Do you know if it's compatible with the SKPro series which I have also recently purchased ? Are all the controls drawbars, percussion, CV settings etc already premapped or do you need to map these with the various CC messages? Connecting an iPad with B3-X app installed with a hammond SK keyboard via an Apple lightning USB camera connector adapter is that ALL that is needed ? and should all the controls on the Hammond keyboard be able to alter the drawbars and settings e.g Leslie speed, CV, percussion etc Hope you can offer your advice as an experienced demonstrator and user. Regards Marc

Hi KM I always use a midi controller with B3x and have only used SK Pro as a stand alone unit. It should be pretty easy to map. I had a very easy time mapping with my Oxygen 61 3rd gen, and that’s an older controller too. I’m in Switzerland now so not near my gear let me know how it goes . Thanks for the kind words too

@@briancharette Hi Brian. Wow! What a fast reply. Thanks for the info. I’ve also tried the iPad app with a M audio oxygen pro similar in many features to your controller. How do you deal with an expression pedal when these controllers only have a sustain Jack and no exp pedal provision? Do you just map expression to a knob/ slider? Hope you are well in Switzerland we are all in lockdown here in Sydney area. Regards👍🏻🎶🎹
