Starting with our first manager, Don Revie was an English football legend, both as a player and a manager. Born on July 10, 1927, Don's football career started at Leicester City in 1944. He later played for several clubs, including Hull City, Manchester City, Sunderland, and finally Leeds United. He was a forward and made quite the name for himself, especially at Manchester City, where he was a key player in the innovative "Revie Plan". This strategy made him the first deep-lying center-forward in England, earning him the title of FWA Footballer of the Year in 1955.

Nottingham Forest did not "snatch" the league title by a point in 1978, least of all from Leeds United. They won the league by the wide margin of seven points from Liverpool in second place, losing only three games. Hardly "snatching." Leeds United were eighteen points behind in ninth place.
