If the effects of gravity that we observe, are the results of space-time curving around mass/energy, why do we call gravity a force on par with the strong and weak forces and electro-magnetism? Time has nothing to do with those.
@blacked29872 жыл бұрын
Time actually doesn't exist in quantum physics... it's external and equations in basic importance don't depend on t
@ospyearn2 жыл бұрын
@@blacked2987 Well, that's the point. Time has no place in the quantum world, whereas gravity is defined by space-time, so gravity is not comparable to the forces described by quantum theory.

@@antonystringfellow5152 @BOMBARDIER After an extremely superficial browsing of Wikipedia articles on Hilbert spaces, Hermetian operators, Hamiltonians, etc. it seems to me that, even if Euclidian geometry breaks down in quantum mechanics, geometry still plays a role, but not in a way that is relatable to Einstein's notion of spacetime; and this notion could not have played a role in the Planck epoch; so, to reformulate my initial question: Why do physicist insist on searching for a unification of the three quantum mechanical forces and gravity?

The information in this video is rather dated, the planck epoch cosmology as a expansion from a point is generally refuted. The major point being is the infinities when r < than c * one planck time unit any energy density is infinite. More over at these small scales time is irrational. You should do more research on the matter. The two major "gravity" camps, Loop quantum gravity and string theory have come up with different work around to the problem.

Comment not about the video but about my iPhone touch calibration. Since an update a while back, when I touch the up thumb icon on a KZbin video, the thumbs down icon lights up. I have to touch to the left of the thumbs up icon to make it light up. Undoubtedly many others experience this and in some cases don’t notice that the wrong icon lit up and end up giving something a thumbs down when they meant to give it a thumbs up. There is also a time delay problem, which shows up especially in the wordle game. Typing two different letters quickly one after another invariably produces the first letter twice and the second letter you touch is dropped.

@paulmichaelfreedman83342 жыл бұрын
Energy can probably never be defined. It's likely not something that physically exists in our universe (only its effects influence our reality) and we probably won't ever discover the mechanism behind energy. If energy was a particle/field of some sort, we would have detected it already in a collider.
