Brian Eno's seminal album Music For Airports turned 46 yesterday, so to celebrate, I thought I'd try and recreate one of the songs completely on the Digitakt.

How did you recreate it? I just see a sample looping.

Hi there, yeah to create this song Brian Eno used seven tape loops, all of different lengths, with each loop playing back a single, sung note. When played, this difference in tape lengths between the loops caused the notes to weave in and out of each other, creating new chords and melodies each time. I have done the same here but instead of using tape loops I have recorded the notes on separate channels of the Digitakt. What you see is just one of the seven notes looping asynchronously. 🙂
