Used to listen to these songs with my wife. I knew our marriage was failing and I felt helpless. Everything was always misunderstood or misinterpreted and all I ever really wanted to say was "Let's stop this nonsense because I love you and I know you love me. We found eachother. We made it." We just ruined everything we built with trivial bullshit that means nothing. We just weren't as strong as we swore we were. Just got back from seeing her and our son. Took everything I had not to break down in front of him. Seeing how quickly her new world came together and how I just dont fit in it anywhere. Every minute shared, every laugh, every tear, everything condensed into "my sons father". My brain just still cant really make sense of it. Just dont take anything for granted. But if you do, Brian Fallon helps.... and copious amounts of whiskey.
