Brian Hastings busts Isildur1 again Mar/15/2010

As most of you know, in December , Brian Hastings was responsible for Isildur1s bust his first time around. Tonight we saw another epic battle, and again it was Hastings who came out on top winning over $1.5M follars in close to 2800 hands of $500/$1000 PLO. We do not want to create any speculations about Isildur1s general bankroll, but it certainly seems as though his account at Full Tilt is empty for the time being after this setback.

No, its just a ridiculous call, probably the worst I've ever seen. He has a pair of 4s! He has only 3 outs to catch the tail end of a straight, when BH could easily have QJXX anyway, in fact, any card over 10 that falls on the turn or river could give BH a straight or set. He puts in 150k on that flop, holding just 6 outs to a 2 pair (non club), 2 outs to trips, and 3 outs for the straight that may be bad anyway. Thats 11 outs at the flop at best, and tons of cards to dodge. Thats terrible.

i wonder if isildur1 cried after this session is like bust 70 or 80% or your huge bankroll against a cheater. but why did he even continue against someone thats is outplaying you everyhand stop at 1.5m atleast and comeback with a new plan later but 4 to 6m lost dude come on.

Ive seen and played many hands of omaha, and just saying that its not a bad call because Isildur1 'likes to gamble' is stupid. Thats just what it is, gambling. Its not poker. Thats why he lost so much money. When a gambler meets a good player, the gambler will lose, mainly because they make calls like this. As you said, Hastings has AAxx, KKxx, and Isildur was 32% on the flop, but he was lucky to be. If Hastings had AAQJ, KKQJ, AQJJ or anything like that, Isildur would have less than 20%.

Have you never folded the winning hand on purpose (let someone win) or bet when you know your hand is useless? (let someone win one) as part of your meta game. Some guys avoid battles too often and they need some encouragment (or it might take a week to crush them) and those two moves I mentioned are a couple of simple ways to get nits and tags into more hands than they should be comfortable playing. FFs man its not a game about cards is it? not at that level anyway

You think he has 33% equity, but will be 50% most of the time, but when you only hold 1 low pair, a weak gutshot straight, and theres a flush on board, you have 33% equity, but will have 20% or less most of the time, not 50%. If BH has a flush draw, and straight draw, as i said, KKQJ or something, isildur is in terrible shape. Lets face it, most of the time here BH has 4 cards above 10, inc a big pair, and either clubs or QJ. Meaning most of the time, BH is ahead already and with more outs.

no because you can only use two of your whole cards and brian would have needed 3 of his whole cards to make his straight

he had the king of diamonds though for the nut flush. However, I guess in Omaha you MUST use both of your cards to form your hand....not like Texas holdem where you can use the board or only one card out of your two in order to form your hand.

Snuffish Hax i agree. I dont really understand why he would 4bet with this hand. It is speculative hand that will play well post flop. Why commit more chips pre flop??? With any board u have to commit post flop now b3cause of low spr now. Look what happened. Brian dominated him post flop but Isildur had to go all in.

It's only one session, luck plays a huge part in just a single session. Hastings couldn't win straight up he needed to compile massive amounts of data on his game to even have a chance.
