Brian John | Dispelling The Stonehenge Myth

Supposedly mystical bluestones found their way to Stonehenge, and the world likes to think that Neolithic tribesmen were responsible. Brian has another theory.

The mystical bluestones lay scattered on the Preseli hills, the bluestone myth goes something like this:
The non-indigenous spotted dolerite bluestones were chosen for their unique characteristics. They originated from a single source, Carn Meini in Pembrokeshire’s Preseli Hills. There is no natural explanation for their presence, glacial transportation being discounted by successive generations of archaeologists.
All of this suggests that they must have been hauled from Preseli to Stonehenge by a tremendous human effort, indicating some special mystical, spiritual or therapeutic significance to the source, the stones, or both.

My father worked for Pickfords and operated a crane during the rebuilding in 1958. He gave me an album of more than70 photos of the cleared site and the rebuilding as the stones were set in newly poured concrete. On a recent visit the guides all vehemently denied that this happened. I showed them my photos which they claimed were faked. It was only when other visitors found old Pathe news reel footage on the internet on their phones that they finally admitted the truth.

No mention of the stones being excavated out in the 1950's... There are loads of photos showing them being hoisted out and reset with concrete... I wrote to the manager of Stonehenge about it - but has no reply... Does anyone else know anything about that ?? Peace

they took them all out rummaged around underneath them and then redug the holes and replanted them with as you said reset with concrete if you look at old paintings it looks very different to now..............there are quite a few photos on the internet

He is a geomorphologist, essentially accusing archaeologists of passing on myths and "theories" (technically, these are hypotheses) without any proof. In fact, professional archaeologists and professional geologists have excellent empirical evidence for the actual quarries and quarrying of them. This was established in 2015, admittedly a few years after he made this video but his book ws published in 2018. Whenever I read of an amateur with a self-published book "debunking" actual meticulous and verifiable work by professional scientists, I accept the peer-reviewed conclusions of the latter. He is not a geologist. or archaeologist.

It is easy to tell actual stone from concrete. Enormously easy. And they are not concrete. I was able to touch some in 1976 before this was not allowed. And am a paleontologist who can tell rocks from concrete, as should any person of average intelligence.
