@@rl4923 The winningest coach in ND history should have no problem at LSU. He's obviously a good coach, record speaks for itself. Recruiting at LSU will be *a* *lot* easier without the academic standards at ND. That's a recipe for success. Say what you want, I respect his competitiveness. He chose to come to arguably the toughest conference in NCAAF after getting whooped twice by Alabama in big games knowing now it's guaranteed he'll have to play them every year. Time will tell though. After further review, Florida also won a title with Saban at Alabama. Lol

@@darkeyezs winningest coach is a misleading here. How many natties did he win? And he went to LSU because they’re paying him 100M. Good for him; most college coaches wouldn’t think twice about it. And I don’t blame him. But this idea that he wants to play in the toughest conference, yadi yada, that’s just sec fans inflating the conference. There are three, maybe four elite teams. Everyone else is average. It always seems like it’s the non-Bama, LSU, UGA fans that are hyping up the SEC. They have to root for the conference because their teams are whack - eg, Kentucky, mizzou, fla, auburn, Tennessee, Arkansas, Vanderbilt. Those teams wouldn’t fare any better in the big10

@@carolinaKing864 Josh Heupel isn’t going anywhere. He has bad blood with OU and the current staff there. Knoxville is his home now, he’s invested, the players are invested. We’re definitely heading in the right direction. Georgia will definitely be the top power in the East for the next few seasons but Tennessee is slowly but surely on the rise. I think Tennessee can easily go 10-2 next year, I’m thinking more like 8-4 or 9-3 though. If Josh Heupel can go 7-5 in year 1 with arguably the hardest schedule in America with a depleted roster imagine what he can do with 4 and 5 stars and with high profile transfers. Kirby is a great defensive mind, Josh is a great offensive mind. I legitimately think within the next 5 years it’s gonna be about Georgias D vs Tennessees O, whoever wins that game is probably gonna win the East, similar to Tenn-Fla in the 90s. And no I’m not just another delusional Tennessee fan lol

There are a lot Notre Dame fans who are appreciative of Brian Kelly (they're right here in the comments). Also, he didn't leave because he wasn't appreciated. He didn't leave for the money (it's estimated he was making 8 mill/yr and his new contract is 9.5mill/yr plus incentives, ND could have easily matched). He left because Notre Dame has insane academic standards, and refuses to relax them for football players, which means he's at a crazy disadvantage when recruiting, and 12 years was enough of that (especially with another big-time opportunity knocking).

@@blucheer8743 You're from Louisiana? LSU Football is something we all can agree on. Coach O brought the team here to help out after the hurricanes hit. Probably didn't hurt his son played for McNeese. Good gesture regardless. NCAAF , especially the SEC, is being run more and more like a professional league with free student labor. Boosters and the money brought in by the SEC profit sharing is ridiculously lucrative. So lucrative that schools like Vanderbilt would rather stay and never win than move and be more competitive. Probably why Missouri joined. Not sure why A&M joined and now Oklahoma and Texas are joining. They were doing just fine and have some of the highest boosters out there. The money wasn't the reason he left. Anyone who thinks that Notre Dame couldn't match that contract is high. ND, is a private school and doesn't have to publicly report salary information, but it's estimated his deal was for 8 mill/yr. His new deal is 9.5mill/yr plus incentives. They could have easily matched that. He left because he has academic restrictions at Notre Dame that he won't have at LSU. ND has a 17.7% acceptance rate. Their average incoming student had a 4.06 GPA, a 1475 SAT, and a 34 ACT. That makes recruiting extremely difficult! He didn't wanna pull from a tiny pool of kids anymore. Btw, I don't blame him for going after money or a better opportunity for himself. I just wanted to point out that money wasn't the real reason that he left.

I love seeing all of the Notre Dame fans shitting on Brian Kelly saying he cant coach and chokes in the big moments. News flash Notre Dame fans, you wouldn't win a national championship if you had Nick Saban, Chip Kelly, Lincoln Riley, or God Himself. Your team's admission standards are too high, Indiana is a god-forsaken state with terrible weather, and your state is devoid of talent. Coach Brian Kelly made Notre Dame relevant and constantly won year in and year out, and will do the same at LSU and will win multiple national championships here.

Easier said than done. I think the NCAA needs to step in to set some boundaries with this. The early signing period just accelerated this while thing into overdrive. The more time you wait as a coach leaving one team to go to another, the more time you hurt your future job with lack of recruiting. I would say missing the early singing period with your future team is equivalent to giving up a first round pick in the NFL draft.

ND will not win a title in our lifetime. Sorry but it will never happen. There are too many other great options out there for players now. Secondly, if you want to be a legend you have to beat the legend. BK would never be able to do that at ND. Nor will anyone else. Gtf over it.
