My feelings for kelly were always unsure or i thought he was ok, but the day Marcus Freeman was hired i had a feeling things were going to get better. Freeman doesnt have the playoff wins or championships yet. But he will.

It definitely feels like he was planting the seeds of an excuse for whatever failure he'll have or make himself sound better with whatever success he has. It's the smart political move from a head coaching PR standpoint for sure.

My take on Brian Kelly's comments after watching the entire interview was. We are not going to OVERPAY for players in the portal. Without adding another DT from the portal Bo Davis will have 10-11 DTs on the roster. Plus a couple of big DEs that could move inside and will in certain defensive packages. They have numbers at the position. They were looking for a starter to match with Guillory. DE/edge is set with a solid two deep and a couple of promising young guys.

I love Marcus Freeman and I'm so glad BK is gone. I was done with BK when he wouldn't let Evert Golson transfer to any team ND could potentially play. He doesn't care about the player or the student. Seeing Joe Montana at ND when ND beat USC was AWESOME and never would have happened under BK.

Great stuff B Drisk. I never wanted BK in the first place but I can’t be too upset with his tenure. My last year as an intern was his first year and they paraded him through the office after he was hired. I shook his hand introduced myself and told him I was an intern. He said “oh so you do nothing around here.” I knew he was joking but still why make that joke. I kind of laughed it off and almost said something like “well I hope you turn out better than Charlie because I wanted Bob Stoops at least he’s won at the level ND aspires to get back to.” It definitely felt like we always hit a ceiling or stubbed our toe on teams we shouldn’t. Which with a coach with his experience and the “proven winner he is” shouldn’t happen as often as it did. Just my thoughts on the matter.

I think coach Brian Kelly was better than some of the previous coaches before him. He got Notre Dame to a better spot. I agree with you though, I’m not sure if he could’ve taken us further. The Coach Freeman mentality is undeniable. it makes you to start believe that Notre Dame can have more than a 10 and 3 season.

You're clowning yourself with this ridiculous comment. Anyone with a brain knows that either A) You're a liar or B) You never listened to me before BK left and are making assumptions that make you look like a fool. Perhaps I should offer option C) Both as an option.
@David-tn3tw7 ай бұрын
@@irishbreakdown i've been following your work since you were at irish sports daily. Every year you hyped up the ND program under BK. Thought ND was a legit contender under BK, minimized the huge talent deficit at ND which you continue to do so today. You criticized BKs QB development (even though now he's put that criticism to rest by developing a heisman QB at LSU and the 2nd overall pick in the NFL draft) but you were 100% sold that BK could lead ND to a national championship victory his entire time here and didn't start becoming *really* critical of him until he left to LSU. The irony in your video when you talked about homers supporting their guy/coach was a bit overwhelming so I had to comment. BK is one of the best coaches/developers of talent in college football. he was able to develop a roster full of 3 & 4 star talent into some nice runs at ND (he just didn't have the kind of fire power in terms of elite prospects needed at ND to beat the best teams in the country) and now BK has access to national championship winning players at LSU when you consider their 2025 class. LSU has three consensus 5-star #1 guys at their position in 2025 at QB, RB, WR (and competing for several others). Brian Kelly never had that much material to work with at ND ever. BK is in a way better position to win a national title now. And the same problems are still plaguing ND under Marcus Freeman today with the same *lack* of upside on the roster. Moreover, there's been a handful of about 4-7 interchanging programs (depending on the year) going back to the start of the 21st century who have completely dominated ND on the recruiting trail -- not beat them but have DOMINATED THEM and the results on the field back that up (which is a problem that still persists today). But the ND media (including yourself) simply will not acknowledge this point and its beyond frustrating.

When has almost any school in the SEC not payed for a lot of their players. What a joke! I’m so glad to be free of BK, and happy to have MF. I hope for LSU’s players and fans sake that BK doesn’t pull what he did at ND to them. What he did was so disrespectful to the players, coaches, and fans. There was a reason the players so openly embraced MF. A bunch of BK’s players at that. Also, I think it was interesting Rees didn’t leave and go to LSU with BK. He could have had a really good job there. Maybe he was a little upset at him too. Maybe not. Great discussion Bryan. Keep it up.
