By selecting only one of the pickups it can only be in phase. A single, single coil pickup cannot be out of phase with itself.

Good video James, presumably you can just look at the presets on amplitube for the red special pedal and see what selectors are used for the songs?

Great vid, James. It is a bit of a shame that we can’t actually see the pickups in a video about them. They’re always off screen. Lol Not a complaint, more an observation :) Keep up the good work man. I enjoy your channel!

Yeah, I’d wanted to put diagram on screen but it ended up being too time taking. In the description is link to video explaining all about how to alter settings. Also pdf print off the updated list with diagrams 😊

The guitar which I just began using at the beginning of August 2019 is solid body, unlike Red Special which is thinline, but built with the same type of pickups and selectors. In my opinion, the bridge and middle pickups out of phase also remind me of an electric sitar. Didn’t Brian use the “woman tone” through something similar to the Tom Scholz Rocknan for the lead guitar parts on “Friends will be Friends”?

Nice video James It's my first comment (new subscriber) , I'm very interested to purchase this guitar, does it still being a good option? I'm not such an expert, but I am a quite bit exigent about the sound and the feel on a instrument (specially the sound). I now that recently BMG guitars modify the special model to make it better but I what to know the opinion of an expert.

Hey James, I'm a new guitarist that is a bloody massive queen fan and I was looking at some of my favourite songs on your channel like "sheer heart attack" for example from a while back and was wondering if you would be able to redo them with the tab? If not I completely understand and I love your vids. Keep it up!

@@Rocklicks72 ah ok, in wembley, the 12, at the last part of the song, i think it's neck and middle out of phase for the rhythmic while deacon play the bass solo . But when brian play the last solo he sound like stratocaster, i think it's just the neck pick up !
@tihomir75 жыл бұрын
Really helpful video. Tnx. How did you adjust the height of each pickup? My RS came with extremely low neck pickup. I don't think that it must be such a big difference between height of neck, and mid and bridge pickups.

@ac30helix445 жыл бұрын
It sounds like you are getting some latency with AmpliTube ! I think play the game is neck and middle in phase. Also, I don’t think it actually matters which you knock out of phase in a two pick up combo. It has the same effect of cancelling the fundamental harmonics and boosting the uppers harmonics. That’s why it screeches 👍🏻
@Rocklicks725 жыл бұрын
Ac30 Helix there’s no latency it’s just my vocal and guitar are on two separate tracks. So when I’ve put video together I’m milliseconds out. You’re right it doesn’t matter which way round you put them out of phase. I explain this in the out/phase video in description.
