Fantastic interview. Really great stuff! How ironic that Brian May is a astrophysicist, because he is a complete star ⭐️ The music composed for Flash Gordon fits the film and compliments the fun, energy and excitement perfectly. Along with the other members of Queen they just nailed it. Love the theme, Space Capsule, Football Fight, Hero, Battle theme etc....all Just beautiful stuff. It helped make the visuals seem even more other-worldly. And they did it again for Highlander! What can you say, Brian, has provided so much magnificent music. And how incredible to become a guitar god with a homemade guitar made with parts from an old fireplace! Just like Klytus I love him and love Queen....real a national treasure!

I was 13 years old when my parents gave me my first stereo. The next day, I went to a department store with my allowance money and decided to buy Hot Space because Under Pressure was a big hit at the time and Queen had played for the first time in Brazil the year before. However, when I pulled the Flash Gordon LP off the shelf, a doubt started to hammer in my head. As at that time I only had money to buy an album, minutes later I had already decided. Flash Gordon would have to be my first LP. Of course, the next day, I bought Hot Space.

I saw Flash Gordon in Darwin Australia as a teenager and was already a Queen fan, but I did not know much about movie soundtracks. So when I saw the film I fell in love with the music and waited to see the end credits to see who created the music. When I saw it was Queen I kind of knew I would be a life long Queen fan because I was so in love with the sound track.watching your video and interview with Brian was special. Wonderful interview! So insightful! You listen to Brian talk and you just wish that someone so intelligent, thoughtful, and compassionate not to mention literate could be the leader of one of our countries, certainly instead of the yahoo we have. What a refreshing change it would be... I was sorry to hear you are dealing with heart issues, You have alluded to issues without expounding before and I was almost hoping it was the back rather than the heart, not that the back is a good thing. (I've got both of them too, and the heart has been very finicky, even 5 years afterwards.) I believe in a recent post you alluded to the adrenaline rush you get as you head for the stage. I can imagine after playing in front of 20000 people or 250000 people, or on top of the Palace it is hard for a mere mortal to comprehend the magnitude of that rush and how awesome it feels to perform well and hear the thunderous applause, or see the whole crowd moving with your music. I hope you can get past these health issues and be able to experience that rush again!

It is unfortunate that we lose our Rock friends every year now. We are indeed lucky to have him in the world, and we have been lucky that he and Roger have been willing and excited to continue to pull their bodies out of bed and back on to the stage to entertain us again and again! Due to this desire to continue to entertain us Queen and the Stones have been THE music icons of my generation! Again, great interview! I'm sure getting the mix of appropriate video with the interview took intense efforts on your parts!

Flash Gordon the film was released in the wrong time , just after "the Star Wars tsunami". The audience was disapointed because they wanted to see something similar . Flash Gordon would be a huge success if it would be released before 1977. It,s a film more in tune with Wizzard of Oz or the Time Machine . It,s fun and entertaining . Little campy.

Great interview, but I can't help mentioning as a fan, and someone who was actually around at the time of the films release, that there is something a bit weird about the context. If I was to say in a sporting context, that you interviewed Pele on how he won the World Cup, it might make some sense. In parts the interview actually seems to avoid the fact that Brian was a member of a phenomenally successful band.
