He should have definitely be in there ages ago… I’m mainly a Metalhead but I will always make exceptions for guys like Brian ! You cannot deny what this man is and continues to be to the guitar world. What a phenomenal guitarist and musician! Brian’s music is the exact definition of old school Rock ‘n Roll / Rockabilly. I can’t even understand why he wasn’t entered into it at least 20 years ago ! A serious oversight on their part! Meanwhile pop stars get nominated and entered all the time it just does not make a single molecule of sense. 🤷♂️?

I was at 'Canes in San Diego to see The Refreshments play in 1996, when I ran into him on my way to the bathroom. He was just standing at the back of the room alone, waiting for his former bandmate (Slim Jim Phantom) to play in the opening band called 13 Cats. I bought him a beer and we chatted for a few minutes before I returned to my seat. He was a genuinely nice man, and I tried to play it cool, but I am certain I had an ear to ear grin. It's hard to hide the fan spaz when you're having a casual conversation with a legend. All hail Brian Setzer!

I've never met Brian. But I love this man. Ever since I saw the VH1 special of Brian Setzer Orchestra back in the day, I've always been a fan. He seemed like a real cool cat. The kind you could just sit next to and talk "shop" for hours without ever getting bored.

I had a 1963 Gretsch Corvette. It was the most comfortable guitar to play I have ever encountered. I had a good friend who had a telecaster and almost everyone thought my Gretsch was superior. It was stolen and at the time in my early thirties I couldn't afford something comparable to replace it. I'm 67 now and I saw a 1961 Gretsch acoustic on craigslist that looked beautiful. Unfortunately someone bought it for 700 dollars while I was on the way to see it.

Look up the Stray Cats performance at the '83 US Festival. That completely stripped down trio sounded better, IMHO, on that ginormous stage than 75% of the bands on the bill. Brian's playing/singing is especially awe-inspiring.
