I tell my kids about the day Scal took the whole team on his shoulders in the come-from-behind victory, beating both the Lakers and Spurs simultaneously at the buzzer in Game 7 of the finals, all by himself, Coach Rivers having sat the rest of the team because they were all just standing around in awe of his skills. I hope I won't be an idiot for this comment and I wish someone else thought of this. But for me Brian Scalabrine is an inspiration to people that dream to be in the nba. Kids who play basketball around the world want to join the nba, even atleast once. Scal may be considered a benchwarmer but the crowd loved to see him play even if the reason was he wasn't good. His legacy now is not about his greatness but how he entertained the people.
