What a dear, sweet man. I am not and never have been gay but the cruel people that made these persons lives a living hell, need to look at why they felt they had to do this.

This is a bright, engaging and compelling man. The story of Angel/Angelo is extraordinary and rare and a thing of significance. Oddly, but also not oddly, Sewell's rather grey and damning view of long-term monogamy shows a rare lack of imagination in him. It may not have suited him. It may not suit others. But it does suit many. And these days it is not the Law and it is not the Church. It is a nice thing to do and if it works, it works. I am lucky. It worked. Many of my friends and family were less lucky; it didn't work. But that doesn't make it a bad idea. For all that, what an awesome extraordinary tale of terrible and frightening times from a wonderful storyteller.
