This is my third male rendition of that song. He nailed it. I think he understood the depth of emotion felt by many at that performance.

His singing was incredible, and him playing the melodica is the icing on the cake. I got teary eyed watching this.

That was beautiful. Thank you. I have heard that song over and over so many times (as a youngling, I had Donna Summer on 'repeat' for hours) I never thought I could hear it again. But you made it fresh and new and brought me to tears once more. Thank you Brian Stokes Mitchell.

That Donna Summer 30's medley is incredible - I love how she handled the Sophie Tucker "Some of These Days". Have you seen the footage from her 1980 TV special of it?

Back in the 197O's and 198O's when I was young and talented... I refused to lie for the money... or for a career... therefore I paid a price far above rubies... but I have never regretted it... so glad to see that folks are finally willing to come out of their professional closets... as it is about time... and you are more than welcome that I and my generation's honesty and courage made your current "out and proud" lives... and careers... possible in the first place.

Still waiting for mine. 26 years old, never had a boyfriend. I was raped at 20, it's been hard recovering and finding someone with the patience to see the recovery through.

Brian Stokes Mitchell here shall be re - uniting with the lovely Audra McDonald to revive the great Eubie Blake's 1921 Broadway musical smash, " Shuffle Along !" It will be at The Music Box Theatre; and tickets are so hard to get, though I was fortunate to snag two for April, when the weather in New York City is spectacular !
