If you disregard the Urban Meyer season, Trevor has played 2 bad half-seasons and 2 good half seasons. First stretch of 2022, he looked like he was still getting urban Meyer out of his system and unlearning bad traits he got got from Urb/learning how to communicate with the coaching staff, and showed flashes but this was a bad half season. Then something clicked and he had a dominant run at the end of 2022, sneaking a jags team that had no business being in the playoffs into the playoffs and that crazy wildcard comeback. Then, to start 2023, he picked up where he left off in 2022, not the best statistically, but if you go back and watch the games there were a lot of dropped tds, and a lot of missed opportunities but despite all of this he still lead the jags to 8-3 and at one point, #1 seed in the afc. Then he gets hurt, Christian Kirk gets hurt, zay jones gets hurt, half the Oline gets hurt, only weapons are Evan engram, a Ridley who doesn’t know the playbook, and Parker Washington, the rest are practice squadders and he plays like doodoo to close the year because he wasn’t healthy and the team wasn’t healthy. But I’m going to say based on what we’ve seen, that the real Trevor is end of 2022, beginning of 2023 Trevor when he was balling based on the fact that the only bad football he played since the end of 2022 was when he was injured, from the end of that bengals game onward. If Trevor is healthy, he’s a top 10 qb and that stats in that late 2022-early 2023 run prove it and I think that now, with these new additions he breaks into that top 5 territory if he plays a full season of good football with the right players around him, the narrative will change

I think it's amusing to listen to all the It was Urban's fault for Trevor not living up to the hype. I think it's amusing to listen to all of the excuses for why Trevor can't string together a good season. You know perhaps the real Trevor is the first part of 2022 and last part of 2023.

Trevor was making great strive last season the best he looked ever in my opinion; in that first half of the season , was laser accurate even through double coverage but I been calling for the jaguars to get the right players that fits Trevor play style, dating back to urban. He use to slang it to Marvin jones who’s not that big, but was also his safety blanket, one of those deep targets he would toss it up to. Now Doug Pederson and Trent got the players to maximize his potential which are big body receivers that can go up and get them 50-50 balls vertically. Trevor never had that his whole nfl career until. Now he has a chance, especially with an improved O-Line. Great video bro.

True I've been saying he needs a big and deep pass target, even year 1 he looked more comfortable those first few weeks when Chark played. And the fact we had never pursued another legit deep threat or Big has been confusing. Thomas might really be the guy when he steps on.

i mean to be fair id argue he and the defense showed what they could do. like he said, TL was banged up for most the season and kept getting more and more hurt. even with a different 3 receivers every other game and a subpar o-line he managed to put the jags in not just play off conversations but even underdogs for the superbowl. that’s a feat in my opinion and with 4 competent receivers, a better oline, and the defensive holes and weak points covered i think this is a chance the jaguars and trevor lawrence to show up. that being said they have one of the hardest schedules in the league, with their easiest match up being against the patriots with probably the browns or bears next up who neither should be ignored

Couldn't agree more, Trevor needs to improve fast or this big contract was a disaster. I bought his jersey, bought the hype, year 1, and have been riding him since. Love Trevor and I know the Clemson Trevor has not even shown himself yet. Almost half a decade in the NFL and he looks like a rookie still in the pocket, taking sacks with 3 seconds of free time and no idea how to move around. Really hope we do better and Trevor makes that next leap, but I don't see it happening.

I am a Jags fan and was a season ticket holder for 11 years. Many of the fans in Jacksonville are more interested in a franchise QB vs a Super Bowl winner. Excuses are the norm around here for poor QB play and I’ve seen it with Leftwich, Gabbert, Bortles and now Lawrence. Lawrence should not be paid until he cleans up his turnovers. If he can’t do it this year then the Jags should draft a new QB, let him sit a year, and let Lawrence have his 5th year. Herbert is massively overpaid and not a franchise QB IMO. Burrow was legitimately injured last year. He also has had a Super Bowl loss and Championship game loss. He has 2 seasons over a 100 QB rating. He has earned the benefit of the doubt for an injury plagued season. Trevor and Herbert do not have the playoff resume that Burrow does.

You did a recap of the jags offseason while giving special attention to BTJ and the future of Trevor Lawrence. An accurate title would reflect that. This title misleads fans because it indicates that you have news to share about BTJ’s OTAs performance.

Not sure how it’s a cheap trick. The video is about the Jaguars offseason moves combined with the initial look of Brian Thomas Jr. and his impact this season. Would you have liked it to be titled, “First Look At Brian Thomas Jr. In Practice!”? That’s just a less dramatic version of my title and would have far less success. Clickbait would be me saying “Brian Thomas Jr. gets hurt in practice,” something completely false and made up to get an initial click.
