You got me back into playing this game, Brian. I bought it at launch and realized never finished it(made it up to lvl 28.) The game is treated rather harshly due to it's many problems at launch but it's a solid game with excellent combat gameplay, exploration, and some excellent aesthetics especially the Andromeda Initiative. I agree that the original trilogy is superior in story, characters, and atmosphere but Andromeda does dominate in the overall gameplay.

I'm playing my first play through, nearing the end. I'm enjoying it. Separate yourself from Mass 1 2 3. It's after and it's its own game. Give it a chance, you'll find yourself immersed.

I played Andromeda from launch. I thought it was fine. I didn't feel like the problems were that significant. I've certainly experienced worse launches. Previous Mass Effect games didn't have that good character animations either but that didn't stop people from enjoying them. I think the hate was more because it was hugely anticipated title and didn't live up to peoples expectations. And I get it. Original trilogy is still my favorite but I thought Andromeda was a solid game. Lot of hardcore gamers tend to be very demanding and a lot of gaming controversies are really dumb and hysterical. I find it interesting how Mass Effect 3 ending was a huge controversy even after the Extended Cut DLC but Brian, who never experienced the original hate train, had no problem with it. Same with a lot of other people who played the games years after they were released.

Most of the hate I heard when it came out was for wonky cutscene animations and that it wasn't Sheppard. Kneejerk reactions.

After the patch the game was FUN! Its a 6.5 to 7 outta 10. Alot people r toxic. But still the game shouldn't have dropped being very buggy

The gameplay is great. Vanguard is even better in this version. The cut scene animation tho.... the dude does look high AF and they must've used gorillas for character models because they have giant hands and walk around with the chest out and knees bent like they're in a Planet of the Apes movie lol

i played day 1. It is was buggy but the crunch the company was under at the time was rough. patches have fixed most problems

Despite the crap this game got, I have played it a lot. Granted, there's a lot of quality of life mods that make it better. But IT IS A GOOD GAME!

Another great video, Brian. I like this game. I played it when it was buggy, and I play it off and on, but not as much as I do Mass Effect.
