Loved your review and unboxing of this model. As a full sized pilot I fly one of these and just wanted this model. I did choose the nicer Spektrum receiver to add SAFE and AS3X, and will look forward to flying this model. Thanks for your BPRC link which I used.

A perfect rendition of the 182. Because of the scale looks, this one is on my short list!

Nice demo, nice model. I have the FMS 2000 Beaver to build soon. . By the way, they are called "static discharge wicks". I've seen scary St. Elmo's fire, electrical discharge dancing around the cockpit windows, say at 370 at night.

Had a bad exp with helicopters, told the Mrs no more RC. Then, I show her this beauty...insert eye roll and head shake...However, I've never flown planes so this looks like it could be a fantastic trainer and to keep for a long time.

Beautiful. I have always liked the look of the 182. This one looks and flies great. I have the earlier Sky Trainer, but it is getting worn out. This will be a great replacement.

1000000%...it's so good. You're gonna love it. Thing flies EXACTLY like you think it will, plenty of power when you need it, but not "fakey" amounts of power. Had my son flying it and he did good too with it...but I was still nervous, since this is "my type" of plane...LOVE IT! bprc.me/FMS_Cessna182

I highly suggest going with a perrenial rye over seed and let that take over the yard, then level it off nice and smooth with peatmoss and sand.. then you can cut your lawn nice and short like a golf course green and it'll be smooth and durable, even in full sun, high traffic.
@BrianPhillipsRC2 ай бұрын
That would be amazing! Would love it to be smooth as butter for the full scale planes, but wonder how that'd work for grass hay harvest. We currently harvest all the property, less the house, driveway(s), pond, sand filter, tree lines for alfalfa or grass hay.
@BrianPhillipsRC2 ай бұрын
How many tons per acre do you think we'd need worth of peatmoss and sand?
@RAYROTHSTEIN662 ай бұрын
@BrianPhillipsRC there is a calculator out there, that grass is what they use on PGA golf courses and I planted it over my thinning out Kentucky blue grass. As long as you mow it at short to medium height, the blades feel like a fine carpet.all golf courses use sand for leveling and compaction. Even if you just did it near the edges of the driveway and the front lawn, it will make even EDF jets have a chance at surviving a grass ops
@RAYROTHSTEIN662 ай бұрын
@BrianPhillipsRC just watch the video of cleatus mc garland at his airport, when the zoom in on the soil and grass, it's a candy mix that packs well.
@RAYROTHSTEIN662 ай бұрын
You can start with over seeding and then after it starts to germinate and get about 2" tall, then start leveling with the mix, it will grow thru and start spreading to fill in nicely.

It is very good! Just was flying it this evening again, and got something like 20 minutes of takeoffs and landings on 67% charge on a 3200mAh 4S 50C spektrum pack. I DID hit low voltage protection, fyi, so might want to be careful about that ;)

wow that is a beautiful plane.. and being able to fly on your own property is really nice. I have been flying the Eflite Maule for 5 seasons, I think this will replace that one which is beat up a bit. Battery replacement is a pain on the Maule, this looks great.

@infinitesky-596 ай бұрын
The UMX Cessna is a great plane - I have owned 2 - and in dead calm conditions on summer evenings can be made to look like the real thing flying slowly and steadily overhead but.... being so small the scale magic is soon lost in turbulent air. This larger plane looks great.

I have seen something wrong with this plane today, that i can't unsee now. The lights are known and i fixed mine so the white in the tail and the nav's are solid now while the beacon and the strobes flash *BUT* the wingstruts are to long and reach to a place way to far outside on the wing. They should connect to the wing at exactly the place where aleron and flaps meet but they are 10cm to close to the wing tip. Now i have to reposition the wing strut quick conector in the wing and shorten the strut itself or i have to sell the plane :D

Hi Brian. As far as flight characteristics, please compare this to the 1800 Ranger. Obviously this wins in the looks category!
@BrianPhillipsRC4 ай бұрын
Ranger 1800 is excellent, and this plane is also excellent....so hard to explain the difference, since it's super subtle...this one feels just a BIT more "top heavy" than the Ranger, and probably because the wing is so FLAT, and the tips on the Cessna 182 are bent down. They are both GREAT - that's the point. Get BOTH. ;) bprc.me/FMS_Cessna182 bprc.me/FMS_PA18 - OOOOPS, threw that in there just to muddy the waters a bit more ;) bprc.me/FMS_Ranger
