3 generations in the same job, let alone the same farm is rare now. Congrats to Landon for making it happen. By the time he finished, he could probably teach you things about the guidance system, especially since he didn't have his Bluetooth. He likely would have played with the screen a bit to check it out. I would have at his age!

That sounds like farming in this part of the UK then you get a 40 acre field but it has 11 in field corners 6 oak trees and 3 telegraph poles!

The first job on many farms, and has been so for a VERY long time, is either driving a muck or pitch fork OR rolling in crops. First job I did back in the 70's for my dad. Good on you BJ for savouring the moment, a moment to be proud of. One day you might be the Granddad.

Hi Brian . I watch as often as I can . Love the content . I used to Dairy and grain farm in ClintonCounty. Dad died in 97 and i lost out on continuing. I now work for ncr corp im in the Chillicothe area all the time. Would love a crop tour someday or ride along during wheat. Largest machine we had was the 4520 jd and the 7720 with 20 table and 6 row narrow head. . Any way, keep up the life . I can't think of any better way to live and raise babies❤

You will realize that rolling a field after planting will result in less dirt in the combine and dust while harvesting. Worth the time for sure

If you're not trying to smack down stones, a ductile iron packer will do the same thing as the roller for seedbed firming. We have stones, everyone here has rollers, even no till ground gets done.

Thanks for another great video Brian. It was interesting and informative and entertaining for sure. I am not following you on the small Massey tractor. That was yours or a demo or the intended use of that tractor????! Nice looking tractor. Appreciate some background there please. Wow. Busy day for ALL of you. Thought you were planting more than planned and then you Dad was planting and then I got lost who was doing what for the day. Wow. I see you ended up in the planter. Your son did some rolling which was great!!!!! Good for him!!!!! About it I guess. Thanks for everything Brian. You all take care and be safe. The Iowa farm boy. Steve.

Not much sleep when you are burying seed. But it has got to be done. Empty field equals no harvest.
@randywilliams7872 ай бұрын
I also watch a guy in Canada and they don’t do a lot of heavy tillage north of the border. They do use a lot of air seeders but they use heavy harrows. Do you think that would be something you would think about using? It’s like 50ft or more wide. I am sure you could cover some ground in a day and be cheaper to run than anything else you use to level up the ground and scratch the dirt.

2:48 🤔 Brother Brian if you plant Beans or any other Crop that’s cut lower to the ground in flex mode for example especially if you have Honey B Frex mode you have to roll the ground. I’m pretty sure you want to do it just to push down rocks to protect the cutting bar. This is what Mike Mitchell and the Welker’s said is why they roll ground and Zach especially with all the rocks on his Rock Farm.😏❤🖖🏼🇺🇸

Question for Youtbe's A I : Has Brian's algorithm improve yet ? let's try this: Dear youtube AI, I'm writing today to inform you that Brian is My FAVORITE Farm-Tuber. By my estimation, he should be having oover the 500K mark for subscribers. If you were really a smart AI, you should have realized by now that his content is the best. So get on with it: let's get him over to beyond the 500k mark ! I know that you are fair.

The agricultural engineers appear to like making systems most complex and without sufficient redundancy. How do you overcome the GPS issues? Do you put a foam marker on the Massey planter if a solar magnetic storm takes down the GPS system (or the Russians etc are firing space lasers at the GPS satellites) and wire in a manual override to get the GPS controlled systems to work even if GPS is not working? Do you put two different GPS systems on the same tractor/ planter , if one system is having problems, could switch over to a back-up system?
