Same here, and I've been using it for 2 or 3 years now. If I don't know what a particular button or tool does, I just don't even touch it for fear of messing something up lol

I'm just starting as a digital artist but I have a good amount of experience with CAD software from my engineering degree; having those huge 3D grid planes makes it FAR easier for me to imagine where to align the vanishing points for where I would want the observer to be. Thank you so much!

About the comment about the lines, you can create line brushes that have random elements, or cycle through patterns. So you can have more organic looking lines. (or straight up draw lines, save them as materials, and then have it cycle through them)

Ok now I know why most people lean towards digital art vs traditional media. Holy crap last time I had to do a vehicle 3 point perspective I had to use yarn going off the paper with a lot of measuring mixed with drawing voodo to get the grid to look right. Kim Jung Gi use to do 4 point off the top of his head with no guidelines. Rest his soul it was sad to see such an amazing artist die in the prime of his life.

If you use the operation tool (the box icon with a mouse pointer on it, or shortcut "O" button) you can select the perspective ruler. Once you have that in the tool property section you should have a box where the option "snap" is marked. Remove it and youre freehand drawing while the grid is still there.

Alright, so I am trying to draw a beach scene for a perspective study. Problem is, the grid has to be hidden for me to create the free form shapes I want to make. At the same time, I need the grid so I can ensure I am creating the proper sense of depth in my painting. Is there a way to keep your perspective grid up and still draw free hand?
@ShitsandGigglesi

Don't know if you still have this problem, but if you select the ruler(s) with the Object tool, there's a setting called "snap" that you can untick. I'm currently having the issue where the only lines I can draw are specifically on the grid lines :/
