Wow you hit some key points...I too had a Stroke a few years back. A Massive one it was...But for the Grace of God I am still here. I too have days where for whatever reason I just can’t get it going but then I have days where I feel refreshed and I end up taking life now..One day at a time. I try to keep Positive People and thoughts around me..as many of you already know the so called Friends will manifest themselves early on in tour recovery stage..admittedly that part three me one the biggest curves..when you realize who you thought was a good friend turned out to be a fake lame person who just turned their back on you in your time of need. But to sum it all up, I have to agree with you and I chose to handle my Stroke recovery as another chance I was given to be able to wake up and be with my Family and True Friends is a Blessing in its own way...you can either get busy living or get busy dying...hey peep this if you had a Stroke and you are reading all I wrote...you’re a survivor...for whatever it’s worth and all you been through with your Stroke..For the Grace of God..YOURE STILL HERE...!!!

Thank you. Before my 3 strokes in 6 months I was a triathlon Ironman and trained twice a day. Now I struggle to climb up stairs. People can’t see that fatigue so they think your ok. But I”ll never be able to run or cycle again. Psychiatrists have helped me with depression but the pills makes the fatigue worse. My kids have been great and help a lot. After 18 months I have recovered speech going every day to orthophonists. My leg is toast but I try to walk 40 min a day. This fatigue just comes and goes without a warning. The professor said to me once: don’t give up by staying in front of Netflix , work on your brain because the part considered dead is only asleep and maybe in a few years it will wake up through solicitation. I”ll never forget that.

Hi Brian, I just hit your page, and thank you for this. I've been a stroke patient for 12 years now and I will be 33 this year. I did my physiotherapy, ate well, sleep well, rest well and all that. I'm a Software Engineer worked with different organizations in Nigeria and Abroad. Like many others, I remember those days that I couldn't talk, eat, do things myself, I literally watched my mom helped me with these. But now I can do things myself, I live alone, I go to church alone, I go to work alone. All thanks to God and to my family for always been there

you are so correct regarding lack of wisdom on part of physicians (allowing attic). my evaluation of my own post stroke neural fatigue is that our brains have to work as hard as during infancy when original patterns being formed- babies go and then suddenly run out of gas. that’s how i feel with attempted neuroppastocity. i do 10% of what i did before but with concentration i can do a little of everything. i do speak in cursive instead of print, tho. blessings.

"lol" - I know excactly what you mean about fatique - been asking the doctors about the same and no explaination. It's good to know that others after a stroke also feel that way (in a way). Having depressions though - actually I thought it was those who took away my energy but after this video I will try to settle with that "it's just how it is after a stroke".. Kinda positive thing to me :) Tnx

There is always a hurdle to get over, some are bigger than others, some times they come all at once. Like you separation is one of the hardest things I've had to deal with, your whole life gets turned upside down. It seems like it never happened now. It helps if you get something new to focus on so you can move on without dwelling too much on the past. Fatigue - I find sometimes it can take 3-4 days to get over a weekend of gigs. Adrenaline trade off I think.

Thank you for your testimony , I'm a husband of a stroke survivor and we're going on 3 years this month and still experiencing those moments of fatigue, sadness , hopelessness. Besides the physical effects , right side hemiplegic , I find the cognitive issues of memory loss, delusions at times the most challenging. It's so sad to know your mate is having such a hard time. Your spot on about the Doctors and other professionals giving advise and prognosis.

Thank u for this short n sweet video. It is so relatable at all levels the fatigue is real. I hd a minor stroke at 41 n now my frustration revolves around the fact that others around me dont get how at one point my energy levels are great n other times m juz tired like brain tired. Well when i tell them my brain circuits are all out of whack after the stroke although ive done all the work i.e therapy my speech my right side weakness n my fatigue are all issues i still grapple with. Like u i dont xperience depression. But how do i cope or deal with peop asking silly questions like y i keep feelin sudden outbursts or sudden lows in energy without sounding annoyed n irritated. Juz bcos i dont suffer permanent physical n mobility issues that are obvious i stillthink they all look at me and think ohhh shes makin an excuse to not to this or that. Using her fatigueness to not be social or attend gatherings etc. I still have problems with the looks and questions i get abt the hidden issues post stroke that isnt naked to the eye i.e fatigue, headaches, brain fog, disequilibrium, unable to focus, sometimes still loaing words when speak too fast or when am utterly tired. Help me deal with loved ones and those i meet along the way with their questions abt my residual symptoms.

Thank you for sharing your exsperience. I am getting over a stroke and I realized they don't know a prognosis. Early I wanted a definitive answer but they could not give me one. I started with no speech or movement on my left side to in three months gained most movement and speech back. I'm back at work after three months but get tired once and a while. I know recovery is fast in the first three months but will slow down but continues long after that. I meet a stroke patient who had recovery five years after it happened. Everyone's experience is totally unique.

Thanks for your positive energy. I am home from the hospital after 5 days. I had a mini stroke last month but didn’t have symptoms until 2 weeks ago. I could hardly walk. Luckily the stroke didn’t affect my speech or memory but my walking is unsteady. I have been active all my life. I am 66 and I will try to work as hard as possible to do my pt. But it is sometimes difficult to stay positive. I am tired most of the time but hopefully it is partially due to the drugs leaving my system. I am on blood thinners and the colors of my black and blue marks are vibrant. But no falls or bumps. They are From the drugs. Keep up you vids. Thank you for making them. Great support and inspiration. And I will look for you on FB.

Had a stroke 16 months ago at 33 years old. Didn't smoke or drink and I ran marathons so I was in very good shape. Doctors don't have a clue what caused it. The fatigue I continue to deal with to this day is annoying. i have trouble speaking at times and sometimes writing is difficut for me, i dont even write the same anymore and I used to have very neat handwriting. I become very depressed at times because i used to be able to do so much. But i keep going forward even though my life is no longer the same at such a young age.

I am like this every day. Can't sleep at night, and can't stay awake in the day. I had a cortisone injection caused 4 embolic strokes and I am shattered 90% of the time. Doctors haven't got a clue. They want to give you anti depressants, statins, drugs and shit. I was told I'd be dead in 2 years, rubbish, he didn't have a clue. Told me I was fine. For 3 years I didn't even know I had an embolic stroke as they didn't read the MRI or CT scans properly. I was told I was mad. Then I got an apology from the Doctor. Had to laugh...
