I am a guitar player and promised myself, that if we got signed, I wanted Beau Hill to produce the album. He got such a large sound and knew the importance of dynamic range. Great kick and snare sound as well. He was the Eddie Van Halen of crafting the 80's metal sound.

I actually love the majority of albums that Beau Hill produced. The first four Ratt albums, especially Out Of The Cellar and Invasion Of Your Privacy are phenomenal albums. Winger's first two albums are amazing also, but I actually love everything they did after way more. Winger's Pull , Karma, and Better Days Comin are phenomenal albums. Other great albums that Beau Hill produced that did not sell as well as others are Kix's Midnight Dynamite and Twisted Sister Love Is For Suckers. Beau Hill definitely produced many great albums.

Pull is such a criminally underrated rock album, shame it wasn't released a couple years earlier when the scene was still going strong!
@johnkatsoudas47673 жыл бұрын
@@michaelthompson3286 Pull is a MASTERPIECE!!! I hate that it did not get the recognition that it deserved. It was my favorite Winger album for many years, but Karma became my favorite when it came out. My second favorite is Better Days Comin which is their most recent album. Winger in my opinion is one band that got better and better with time and every new album. They never deserved the treatment that Lars Ulrich and Beavis And Butthead gave them. I am and have been a huge massive fan of Winger since their first album came out back in 1988. I was barely 10 years old.

Should've talked about Prisoners in paradise by Europe. Curious if Beau remembers the rejected album story by the record company. Or the story that he was called in because a certain Bob Rock pulled out to go working on a black album by an obscure band from San Francisco...
@johnkatsoudas47674 жыл бұрын
Too bad that album from the obscure band from San Francisco did not sell well at all. I bet Bob Rock regrets that he didn't produce Europe's Prisoners In Paradise album. Beau Hill actually did do an amazing job on it. It was just very bad timing.
@philipdegroot13634 жыл бұрын
@@johnkatsoudas4767 ofcourse he (Beau) did a great job on the Prisoners album! It's just funny how those things go. Right time right place and all that. As for Bob; I doubt he'll even remember that he was asked to do the Europe album 😉

Ratt was entirely replaced with doubles after out of the cellar and they had another set of doubles around 1983 that did photo sessions and some gigs that supported the first album ep. One of the guys was not even close to looking like Juan croucier! If in doubt look at the bottom teeth. There is a retainer line that signifies the presence of false teeth to match the originals.
@bassplayer8075 жыл бұрын
I know I’m late replying to this, but was that a common thing to do in the 80’s?

Jani wasn't really that great of a song writer. C'mon, now, "shes so pretty, she should be against the law", "You're the only hell you're momma ever raised", "Big Talk lookin' for trouble",ummmm without uncle toms cabin, which is the song we all point to when we speak of jani's brilliance, is the only song people come up with. His lyric's were a cross of bret michaels and bon jovi. I just never saw his lyric's as that good, rather mediocre at best. Now, Nikki Sixx, Dee Snider or Steven Pearcy, they are much better song writer's, they're just not dead yet so, get off this whole jani lane was the greatest song writer of the 80's. Warrant only had one damn album in the 80's. Get off it.
@Odessa1887 жыл бұрын
Nikki Sixx, Dee Snider and Stephen Pearcy great songwriters? Bullshit. What's so brilliant about these guys? All of them did what they did. Their lyrics are sexist, dumb and offfensive for anyone who read a book or two. The sound is good but the lyrics are garbage. At least, Jani knew he was a crappy songwriter.
