I still love my 5, I have a 6 but I still prefer my 5, it’s that touch button, Im not fond of it being on the top, also prefer the location of the volume on the 5. I was hoping they had changed it back.😢

I had a mini 4. As soon as the mini 7 was announced, I bought a burnt orange Apple folio case from eBay and paid 25.00. Brand new and box fresh! Then traded In the mini 4. As soon as the credit hit my Apple account, I ordered the 256 gig mini 7. The way I see it, it was worth the 100.00 extra for double the storage. Plus it worked out cheaper than having to upgrade my iPhone 13 if I wanted the Apple intelligence.

I think it's not because people think the a17 pro is underpowered, it's because apple will 100% have some M-series ipad exclusive features in the future (or even currently with the exclusion of the stage manager in the ipad mini. Like not even proper external display support on something that powerful)

Think I’ve seen the new mini driving a 4K display in another review. The thick bezels are more about where to hold it and not interfere with the screen content etc. when holding it. We hold iPhones by their edges but children and people with smaller hands like my wife will be better with the mini’s bezels.

It's funny because Stage Manager runs fine on the new mini and even my 6th gen mini after you enable it via a PC using an app called nugget, Apple just making the A series chips seem less powerful to get more money out of people lol

I'm a social worker and I use the iPad mini on the DAILY. Meeting people, going on the field, hearing peoples stories, collecting data on the go, taking notes (with the pencil) and I'm full on slamming on this thing. I've never cared for it to be a "mini pro" cuz that was never the point of the device but come on, this is the barest of minimum apple is doing and it's crazy. Complained about it in the last video, complaining about it again this time around, yes the thing is not a "pro" device but having people to have to use the "pro" pencil with it is... huh 😮‍💨 But then again, I don't have to get too mad, just means that I'm just gonna stick to my current gen 6 mini and it's all good... 🧘‍♂

It's nice they made it with 128GB to start. The 6 came with 64GB to start which was odd because they didn't have a phone with a 64GB storage option. Typical Apple they either give you too much storage or not enough (especially on the 6).

Love your videos, but I can not agree that this is a solid device upgrade. The bezels are way too big, the outdated display, confusing Apple pencil which one works or doesn't, last generation chip (sure we might not need it but through us a bone), colors are an after thought and look like they want to save money on ink so to speak, same box art, camera not in landscape, Ai still not even out, no keyboard case, the new case does not even have the right size camera slot and I can go on and on. But they did give us a brick I'll give them that. Their last two events have been lack luster. At this point I think Leap Frog might catch up.

Said it in a prior video. This was the airpods max "update" for iPad Mini. My 6th gen still handles pretty much everything. I dont use it for gaming but for workday and just video its still performing great.

Yes jelly scrolling is noticeable on the ipad mini 6, I noticed it on the launch before everyone on KZbin noticed it. Don't get it unless you get it for a dirt cheap price. I already prepared my mini 7, picking it up 5 hours later

My main wish for the mini is to get faceid. I know some people love touch id but personally find it annoying to have to have to unlock everytime and accuracy is a hit or a miss for me vs my phones that i just need to tap and swipe up.

One thing people may not have noticed, but with this release, Apple has essentially retired the Pencil 2. None of their iPads in their lineup use it anymore. They all use the USB-C version and all but the base iPad can now use the Pencil Pro.

I'm happy with my iPad mini 6, jelly scroll still on there when I went to the apple store so this device is to get folks on AI bandwagon for short. I like the bezels since I use this to read and don't have to worry on battery life with a bigger screen. Memory isn't an issue since I do not have the same apps that are on iPhone. I honestly don't get the OLED thing with displays this size. I can hold my iPad Mini 5 beside my iPad Pro and can tell very little difference in most screens. If the screens were larger, I'd definitely understand.

OLED with 500 nits is shit. they need to upgrade the brightness. that's the only thing, especially it's an extremly mobile device. if you want to use it in the shade outside, bright sunlight: you can't read shit. i have the mini 6 and it's the biggest issue. fk the 120hz or OLED. it's the nits!

Really disappointed that they didn't go with ProMotion. When reading, battery life would be much improved and it would be epic if the Mini supported a version of Always On Display plus the higher resolution would be better for gaming. Also not supporting Stage Manager with the Supported 4K 60Hz display is a real miss.

I love my mini. But, my only wish is rotation cannot be set - when reclining or lying down (and working with patients/clients with limited/unstable movements) the rotation auto goes from portrait to landscape constantly and is frustrating. The original iPad I remember I could set the rotation to not have it rotate. Tim needs to talk to ME! and put this back in the iPad. Also, I should be able to turn on or off the auto shaping when pausing my pencil when taking notes - my irregular line should remain so and not go to a straighten line when I don't want it to (I'm note taking a resting my pen! - I don't need an auto shape change!).

It had more improvements than the latest Samsung Galaxy s10. They literally just changed the chip and discontinued the 11” smaller tablet. That chip wasn’t even a big jump. It was a smaller jump than upgrading to the latest snap dragon. This iPad mini though cobbled together of older parts and features, gives you double the ram, processor is up 2 generations from previous, new pencil support, and if you using the Apple Pencil usb c, the hover feature will be new as that’s a screen upgrade not an Apple Pencil pro feature. Sure these aren’t big upgrades, and I don’t see a reason to upgrade my mini 6, but if you were on the market these are new features. I didn’t see this many people lose their 💩 with the Galaxy tabs s10 series.

That $500 price tag in a marketing aspect is nothing more than a cover-up knowing that hardly anybody’s gonna be buying that $500 introductory price tag. The most confusing thing about this iPad is that you keep the same refresh rate and the screen and the battery and the majority of what this iPad is is the same thing that wasn’t last generations iPad But then you turn around and put a pro feature on the same product as if it’s supposed to turn this product into a pro iPad.. it’s like walking into a dealer and buying the same car that you had from three years ago but because it’s a slightly different color and they put leather seats instead of cloth seats, but don’t change anything else… this is what it’s like if you already have an iPad mini six and you’re thinking about the new one

If I am correct, you can mirror the screen to an external display, but cannot use it as an extension. If that's the purpose an Air or Pro model would serve you better.

I would take the A17 pro over the M1 chip any day. An M series would be too hot for the iPad mini, it’s pretty small. The A17 pro is super fast and is gonna be fast for years to come. It’s an iPad mini not a pro. If you want a pro with pro features, Apple clearly makes those in both 11inch and 13inch sizes. If you want it and can afford it, get one and stop disturbing everyone with crap about a mini not being a pro.

I have the mini 6 cellular 256 gb and that super fast . Can’t wait to upgrade to mini 7 I have an update I upgraded to mini 7 and you can’t use Apple Pencil with it which sucks big time .
