According to WIKI, "The Founding Fathers established the Electoral College in the Constitution, in part, as a compromise between the election of the President by a vote in Congress and election of the President by a popular vote of qualified citizens." So it's part of the Constitution. It will take an incredible effort to get it changed (which won't happen anytime soon).

In NC, we've had Governor Cooper, who has been the adult in the room. So much so, he declined being a VP pic because once he's out of the state, Marc Robinson, as Lt. Governor is in charge. Cooper said it was too much of a risk to leave Robinson in charge, even for the end of Cooper's term. When Cooper chose to protect NC over his own political ambitions as a possible VP pic, it tells me he knows more reasons than we do that Robinson shouldn't win.

Even Trump is going to win Texas by a 4%+ margin and Cruz definitely isn't less liked than Trump. There is no way Cruz will do 4% worse than Trump against a candidate that is even more liberal than the last person Cruz beat. It's a similar case in Florida. Trump will win Florida and Rick Scott will out perform Trump. I'd love to Ted Cruz and Rick Scott voted out but it's nothing more than wishful thinking.

My state (Missouri) does not allow mail-in voting (you have to have extenuating circumstances). When I submitted an address change on-line, the web page was so bad it _has_ to be purposeful voter suppression. I know it’s just a dream, but mine is to have Missouri turn blue for Harris/Walz (or, rather, _against_ Trump/Vance).

I’ve said this before but I love Brian and agree with 99% of his stuff. Occasionally he says things that are not entirely correct, mostly in the spirit of partisan politics. Such is the case here where he says that Republicans “rallied around Robinson last week” when this story broke. That’s demonstrably false. What they did was ignore him and minimize him but they absolutely didn’t rally around him. Trump was in Wilmington yesterday and didn’t mention him once. That’s not rallying around him. They know they have a problem on their hands with him and the best thing they can do is not call attention to it further and keep his name out of the spotlight as much as possible. Robinson is indefensible and they know it.

As a friend from "El Norte" if you're not hard-core MAGA just a Reagan or Bush GOP instead of taking a chance and sitting this one out why not do your duty as a citizen and show up to vote anyway.
