Wow! 🎉Honestly, I'm really proud that I managed to get 24 of the 26 words right. Because I'm Brazilian, and I don't speak English fluently. I think that because of my good education in my own language, Portuguese, I might have gotten it right, because many of the words may have Latin origins, or just sound a lot like what I already know. But I found it quick and easy. I don't understand how, but it was fun. Thank you. And have a happy 2025! 🇧🇷😊

However, of the twenty-three I knew (and I'm including exigent, because I thought of it right off, though I officially discarded it because it doesn't start with x) I guessed eight of them - based on which letter was up - accurately before he listed the options. I guessed Acrid, Bucolic, Ephemeral, Fallow, Hapless, Jejune, Obdurate, and Exigent just from the sentence alone, knowing which letter we were on.

hi, could you explain me better a thing about this? I know here is absolutely no rule in the English language saying: if the first verb in a clause is in the simple past, a following verb must be in the root form BUT could I put a root-form verm after a past verb? for instance; "we recall Candy when she played and she can" or also "we recall Candy when she played, when she can" - that "can" instead of "cvould" ...are you allowed to use "can" instead of "could" in those two examples?

I was born and raised in the US. A lot of these words I have never heard of before. The maybe half I did know are not very commonly used adjectives. I mean so uncommon that as I stated previously, having been born, raised, and still living in the US, have not myself used, nor have I heard anyone else using most of these words. I'm 35 years old and have been out of school for a while. I'm not claiming to be a perfect english writer or even speaker, even having been here my whole life, but I can tell you for sure that these words, while technically correct, will probably never come up in a conversation. I'm not saying it's bad to know them, knowledge is power afer all, but I wouldn't feel bad if you didn't know these words. I actually have a feeling more non native english speakers may do better on this quiz than native speakers. At least in terms of US english speaking natives, UK is different and uses some different words. Although I have seen my fair share of english movies and shows, as well as youtube videos and these words havent come up there either. Just pointing this out. I'm not saying there is anything wrong with knowing these words or even this video teaching/showing them. It is great to broaden your vocabulary. Which is more of what I think this video is about anyway.

The words I did not know were offset by eliminating the incorrect choices I DID know. Therefore, I scored a perfect 26/26 while only being certain of 23 words.
