When Atsumu Miya said, "Anyone who can't hit my tosses just sucks." that reminds me of Kageyama from season 1 in middle school. There's nothing bad that Atsumu called Kageyama a Goody Two Shoes but there's a message to it. After all Atsumu Miya is the Nations Setter, basically the best setter in Japan. On Washijo sensei, he just gave Hinata a tough love treatment on the training camp as a ball boy. Because of he really dont want Hinata to be there he could've just kicked him out of he training and tell him to go home but instead he told him he can stay but as a ball boy. Because base on the backstory of the coach from last season, it looks like he experienced the same thing and he knows what makes Hinata keeps going which is the hunger to improve because there's nothing can be done for people like them who's short but to be hungrier and keep going.

[half manga spoiler] they say in the manga that atsumu is a setter who puts all his effort to make the best tosses for his spikers, and he obviously expects them do the same and do their 120% in spiking his sets. with that line in my opinion you can understand two things: first of all, what i just said, he expects the best from his spikers, second, that he is a big fat jerk lmao he’s an amazing character though

Yeah you're right but the fact is that when Kageyama is at 100%, he surpasses even Miya in his technique (Chapter 356, after H&K's quick, Miya admits himself "I could so that too, if I wanted to (...) It'd take me three or four times, but I could do it") = it proves two things : the one is that both Kageyama and Atsumu are the best setters so far. And it proves that once Kageyama achieved his mental development, he isn't afraid anymore of doing whatever he wants on the court (and not being rejected like in middle school). Atsumu said himself to Hinata in chapter 388 that he "awakened him", and that there's no limit to his control of the court. Atsumu and Kageyama are not "perfect" but they are complementary : when Kageyama has godlike settings skills, he is rather psychologically weak, and Atsumu has great settings skills (not as accurate as Kageyama's), but a strong self esteem and a resolute state of mind (he is a bit of a jerk too)

@@Nunelii *spoilers* bc kageyama was already a God when it came to setting, like you said he just needed the mentality to back it up. But miya is a God when it comes to setting too. Their skill sets are uncannily alike but the way they use it is different. For example kageyama used the fact that he could set from anywhere to fool the msby blockers by not setting the ball at all. Miya is a bit like oikawa in the way he goads players for example goading hinata to basically do a foul over the net in the inarizaki match. I don't believe that kageyama surpasses him in terms of technique, it's been made plenty clear that they're both prodigies in their own right, I think they're more or less equal in terms of setting (they were called "two top setters" not "top two setters), but yeh I agree with everything else. What I meant by miya is where kageyama wants to be, is that he's already there mentally, where he demands the best of his spikers as long as he gives the best toss. Kageyama gets there later, in this season.

Harry Woodward well Atsumu is the National number 1 setter in high school but I do think Lizuna is number 2

Tsukishima may not be a setter but setting for a cover if the team's setter touches the first ball someone has to cover and tsukishima may have to set in the furture

(No spoilers) By the way, pay attention to what kageyama is thinking about. You saw him this episode call back on Oikawa telling him about giving tosses that go well with the spikers, that the spikers want, but then miya (the blonde hair guy) told him that he is a goody two shoes. I think you can tell that he is caught up on what miya said, because he is confused on what he should do since Oikawa was talking about accustoming to spikers, while miya is the opposite, going as far as saying "anyone who can't hit my tosses just sucks". It's almost like two sides clashing in kageyamas head, showing both flashbacks in this episode after each other, and showing him in a confused state on weather he is doing the right thing, weather he should be a goody two shoes or be more like miya, who is more of a commander. Just wanted to explain that so you guys don't get confused in the coming few episodes.

Short long explanation for the ones who may be confused: Tiny/little giant is a way to call guys who are short but still make big things while playing, Tenma Udai is in fact the most known tiny giant but not the only one, here we can see Korai as an example of this. Hinata may be called that later, but he's the greatest decoy now!

this isn't a spoiler since i believe it is not explained in the show but later in the manga, Sakusa the "best ace" is known as the best because of his flexible wrist so imagine a disgusting spin with a similar ability to aim as Bokuto and the power of Ushijima.

Sakusa is the number one ace since he’s like a mixture of both Kiryu and Wakatoshi he has a better spin on the ball than ushiwaka and the power of Kiryu and also how he has precise aim and technique

If I remember correctly, Sakusa is one of the top 3 aces in Japan, as is Ushijima (correct me if I'm wrong). Very few people must have remembered him, he was mentioned there for the early seasons.

the nutshell of 5th series it all players play not on their own position - Kageyama - setter play wing spiker position, Hoshiumi is wing spiker play like a setter, Atsumu (white yellow with black hair) - setter play like a libero, Sakusa (guy with medical musk) wing spiker play like middle blocker. Funny to watch when something like this happens in volleyball

Since I already missed your haikyuu Reactions guys, just wanted to update you on Something, SAKUSA(that top Ace that always wears a Mask) is a top ace because of his very flexible wrist, making his spikes very Accurate and also gives the ball extra spin which can be a nightmare to the receivers. HOPE TO SEE YOUR NEXT HAIKYUU VIDEO SOON.
