sometimes, the bricks are the same size just layed once on the long side and once on the shortside, and when placed on the long side two bricks are used so that the width is the same as a brick layed on the shortside, its cheaper than buying 2 different sets of bricks :)

The Evaluate box is showing more than one plane on the surface, and sliding the W parameter isn't moving the plane up and down.

Thank you for this great tutorial !! Very detailed and helped me out a lot 🙏🏼🙏🏼, I have a small problem I wonder if there is a solution to it; instead of using this on a plane wall, I would like to use it on a curved wall/ surface. Do you have any idea what I can change in the algorithm to make that happen ?

Great work as always! Thanks for the tutorial. One simple question, do you use an app to take those screenshots and draw on top of them?
@HowtoRhino3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Alejandro! We use the Lightshot app for Windows. It's very handy for sketching on top of screenshots.

If you were to render the individual bricks though, a single texture would look flat. How would you give it some natural variation?
@studio22a343 жыл бұрын
At the beginning you say the normal brick is in 2 sizes (normal brick & double brick). I just want to clarify that it isn't a double brick, those smaller bricks are just a normal brick turned 90 degrees & the longer brick is placed normally. This is because the brick wall has 2 layers of bricks so every other course they will lay out the bricks turned 90 degrees to structurally tie the wall together.

I am afraid you're mistaken. Please check the pictures about this project on archdaily website and you will get the idea how it's made: www.archdaily.com/785923/crystal-houses-mvrdv/5717988fe58ece9e0b00011f-crystal-houses-mvrdv-photo?next_project=no

what @studio22a34 meant was that the conventional brick bonding only uses one set of brick dimensions, which is probably true for the actual bricks on top of the glass ones, the custom dimensions shown by the architects are probably only for the glass bricks (since they are unconventional)@@HowtoRhino of course this has no effect on your modelling since the aim is just to replicate the visual appearance.

Split Tree component isn't working as per your demonstration. Syntax is correct, the component options match, yet the Data component inherits no values from the Split Tree string coming from the Positive set of data. Is there a missing step or are you using a plugin to achieve your result?
@HowtoRhinoАй бұрын
Make sure to simplify data from the Contour output. Let me know if it works.
@corbinstokesАй бұрын
@@HowtoRhino yeah the Contour data has been Simplified. Masks is Flattened. Param viewer displays the Contours as Tree data in a list as {0;0}, {2;0}, {4;0}, {4;1}... Not as (1), (2), (3)... like your list is showing. So the Syntax doesn't match it because of the format. So, Split Tree outputs nothing from Positive to the Data component.

How do you do the syntax part when u are doing the split tree for the contour lines?
@HowtoRhino Жыл бұрын
You need to take the “Panel” and inside of it type: {0,2,…} Please make sure the data placed in the D input of the Split Tree is simplified (you can enable it on the right click of the input). Hope it helps.
