Brick Mountain R.R. is certainly a fantastic place! Your MLB #1001 gondola looks great, very good rebuild! Thanks for sharing another great video, Aaron!

Awesome railroad, would love to visit sometime from South Carolina. We have a few tracks here, but not like this!!❤❤
@MillBrookRailroad5 ай бұрын
This is 7-1/4" gauge. That would be roughly 1:8 scale for standard gauge dimensions or 1:4.8 for 3 foot gauge dimensions. I treat it more like an industrial railroad, so scale is less important than the gauge and the function.
@vettebecker15 ай бұрын
@@MillBrookRailroad yeah, I realized it was 7 1/4 gauge while watching your video. Even if I couldn’t bring my 7.5 equipment, this really looks like an awesome place to visit. I told my wife when we come up to visit her side of the family, she could just drop me off for a few days. She would have to drag me away to come back home!! 🤣

Nice ride. Thanks for sharing. I don’t like riding in a gondola. I am used to riding on my flat cars. The White Creek Railroad where I run has many route options and bidirectional running with manual signals.

I haven't been to White Creek yet. Maybe some day!

Truly one of my favorite railroads in the eastern United States is the brick mountain railroad what an amazing G-16 replica of the Union Pacific M10000 streamliner I hope to see videos of that G16 engine I hope you got to take a ride on that train
@MillBrookRailroad5 ай бұрын
While I didn't get a chance to ride the G-16 this year, my wife did get to ride it. I'm not sure what park it came from, but it is an MTC park train.

@@MillBrookRailroad quite an impressive model of the Union Pacific M10000 streamliner it is missing its observation but it is a great train nonetheless

Nice job, Aaron. Nice property, too. Broad curves and good use of the landscape. The embedded track in the ?shop? is neat.
@MillBrookRailroad5 ай бұрын
Thanks! The way he did the track in the shop was very interesting. It's not actually embedded, but anchored. That's steel flat bar on its side that's been anchored into the concrete at regular intervals.

Dream world. Everything was like a dream. Thanks Aaron for that good rest. Private or club, how can they afford that and maintained it ? Membrrship numbers and fees ? I really want to understand. Not the only location that is so grandiose.....
@MillBrookRailroad5 ай бұрын
It's a private railroad, fully funded by the owner. He does have some volunteers and paid staff to help build and maintain it.

Question - how do you know if they're spring switches, or if you have to change them before trailing through them?
@steamlogger5 ай бұрын
On most 7.25 / 7.5” railroads they are spring switches. At the White Creek Railroad where I run has some three way stub switches that are not sprung. I made video showing how they work.
@MillBrookRailroad5 ай бұрын
I simply ask the owner. He knows where the spring switches are. Also, spring switches are the default on most railroads of this size, due to their flexibility and simplicity. One form of spring switch, the kind we use on the Mill Brook Railroad, is literally the simplest and cheapest way to throw a switch.

Fantastic!! The 70 and gon look great Aaron. I live about 40 minutes from Brick Mountain. Is this event open to the public, or is it as you say an "Invitational meet" only? Our former kitchen contractor knows the guy that owns Brick Mountain... Was going to get me a tour, but that never materialized.
@MillBrookRailroad5 ай бұрын
It is invitational, but anyone with an interest in the hobby is welcome to attend. If you are interested in the hobby, I would suggest a membership in North East Live Steamers.

@@MillBrookRailroad Thanks for the info... I'll look into joining the NE Live Steamers. Hoping to buy a locomotive in the next year or so.
