was expecting some lego building ideas and was pleasantly surprised by your take on the history of polearms. Very well done! Appreciate the effort

Really enjoying these so far! Very informative and great production value, too. Minor nitpick 🤓... at 3:20 you suggest the poleax is almost or as old as the spear, but it really predates the spear by nearly six years. It first appeared in the Yellow Castle in 1978, though I had the US version released in '81. You also noted it was first utilized incorrectly with a shield, but none of the Crown guards carrying those axes had shields. Only the knights and their squires. Nor did the guards in the Knight's Procession, the Knight's Tournament, or either of the '83 Castle Figures or '84 Castle Mini Figures sets carry shields. It looks like the '85 Castle Mini-Figures set may be the first one where they gave a mini both a poleax and shield. Which is clearly wrong, but at least they held out for a while, lol. Great video!

You are right! I forgot completely about the poleaxe predating the spear, I always thought they were introduced in the same place. And yeah, I mentioned it was utilized incorrectly with a shield because I only looked at the golden era castle sets, but you're correct, classic castle did use poleaxes correctly, go figure!

I don't think that length of video is an algorithm thing, it's just the length the average viewer prefers and thus gets more clicks

I wish Lego still made the classic weapons such as the original halbert.

7:08 There are several flexible hose pieces that can be used to make pikes so you don't have to stack a number of bars/light sabers

Yep! I have two of them, problem is that depending on the color they can be a tad expensive en-masse, and I'm also not *quite* sure about how legal the connections are (from what I've tested it feels like they are a bit too large in diameter and could harm lego hands on the long run)
