Love finding old newspapers on rip outs. Recently worked on a central London bank and had to get rid of old lockers. Loads of the lockers locked so we jemmied them open to look for goodies! Found newspapers from 30 years ago and I remembered all the stories! When we refit we always hide newspapers in walls and behind boxings. Nice brickwork mate. Cheers.

Well done Stu, love to see KC keeping an eye on you! I have two of my boys work for me, its great to pass on the knowledge, we are in the lake district so not much brick work but more interesting when you pin & prop a stone wall & you get a run on the fill when you start to strip out the stone, that's not for the faint hearted either! Keep up the good work & glad to see you enjoy the craft & dispel a few myths that we are all a bit lacking in the trade.

I am just now learning about brickwork because of some projects I have in mind. It just seems like such a permanent solution and well within my skillrange. Your video was very instructive!

Great job Stu l think the pull cord breaking was a god send it saved you loads of cutting to get your 10 mm gap the original arch bricks had not been done just laid with a tapered joint your arch looks great because you extended the width of the arch which allowed the brick joint to open on the bottom hope you do a video on fitting the doors so we can see how you sort out that wooden internal lintel when you open up the brick work to the left

I once hired a petrol cut off saw from HSS. Same thing happened with the pull cord. I needed it that day so took the cover off and found the ratchet pawls were just stuck with dust. A bit of WD40 got them springing again. Top job again Stu and love the channel!

Still cutting only one side of the voissures ! When you put in the last brick you have to put the muck on the brick like a pair of folding wedges . ie 10mm going back to nothing on one side of the joint and on the other side nothing going to 10mm then it looks slick . When you fill the top bed joint put the muck in from the end not the face . Look on ebay for 6mm fugen kelle .Brave effort Stu not one of your best though . All the best

Looks like the catch on the pull cord mechanism snapped. It's a tiny plastic part that we always keep a spare of which only take 15mins to change yourself but can ruin your day if you don't have spare. Probably bit late now but have a look into it. 👍

Top job Think it looks period with full brick matches the house Always good to know how to service a saw Most likely full of crud nice to see your using dust suppression better working conditions Might pay to knock out and clean your air filters Always pays to have a service kit in the van spare recoil assembly just in case When I was in tool hire I taught every delivery driver to repair recoils and strings and gave them a spare ts400 recoil assembly to exchange on site to prevent breakdowns and save costs and paperwork too much choice now in saws
