That's awesome. Have you considered making the collector at the bottom have drawers you can slide out to get the coins? Stick a clear window piece on the front so you can see it, because that's kind of aesthetically pleasing, but with deep drawers with a clear front, you'll be able to stop the coins jumping out when they've gone into their sorting slot.

First of all, mirror your coin separator and reverse the motor direction so the tilt is the same direction as your sorter. Secondly, you don't need the drop holes to be the full length of the segment. If you shorten the dime drop hole you will make it more difficult for the pennies to drop down the dime slot. As far as the coin sorter goes, if you get a couple of studs close enough to the outer wall it should give the vertical coins a kick. You also need to build your separator support more sturdily and link the two sections together.

It's the same story as the U.S. Half-Dollar: After the value of silver rose in the 60's, the silver content was reduced, instead of being replaced with the copper-nickel clad the lower denominations recieved. By the time the silver was replaced with the standard, the coin already lost the favor of the public. The U.S. did try to make its Half-Dollar popular again, but after the circulating bicentennial commemorative failed, it lasted 25 years before it was only sold to collectors. Canada took a different route and pulled their Half-Dollar from circulation entirely, only selling them to local collectors even today.🧐

I think a simple way to improve the sorter would be adding a tray to the bottom (similar to a dice tray under a dice tower) with raised boundaries between each coin so if they're flung out at the bottom, the coins don't mix. Also, ofc, reversing the direction if the loading machine so coins are tilted the correct way.

Maybe something you could do to make the coin sorter more stable is making a hand-crank instead of using a motor. Part of the instability seems to be how much shaking is happening and that the legs cant support that movement. Improving the supporting legs to hold more weight, or switching away from the motor, might be the best way to fix the issues.

I think one thing you should add is a sort-of tub on the bottom of each one so that you can fit more coins in each slot! I think that would be quite helpful! I wonder if you can use the vibration of the motor/spinner to help with the initial coin input instead of working against it. Use some lego rubber bands to suspend the assembly around a solid mount, and the vibrations could deal with things like the coin inputs getting coins stuck "on edge".

Hey m8, I like the vid! It’s pretty entertaining, but I do wanna let you know. Sometimes at the end of a sentence you do a sort of ‘giggle’ and it kinda gets grating if you do it too much in quick succession. For example, 17:57 It might feel like it’s breaking some sort of awkwardness or lightening the mood, but you should try delivering your lines more confidently. the bit where the coin drops into it is small and difficult to take the coin out without tilting the whole thing. id recommend you either make the gal taller or make a hole in the other side and a little plunger which you can push through the gap on the other side and it makes the coin come out

I wonder if adding nubs along the outer edge of the spinning wheel might help prevent coins from getting stuck? That way, instead of coins traveling between a nub and the edge, they would travel between 2 nubs. Using outer nubs like this might also help reorient coins that don't fall flat from the feeder. You could also then reposition the inner nubs to properly catch different sized coins.

its actually a quote from issac newton the inclusion of the quote is to represent technological advancements, this coin is specifically representing the evolution from the iron age to mechanical age with its inner ring and the outer ring representing the advancement from mechanical to the computer age. which would not have been possible without sir issac newton, as qouted by the royal mint "This quotation, stressing that today's achievements would not be possible without the discoveries of the past, was felt to sum up the spirit of the reverse design. Since Sir Isaac Newton was himself Master of the Royal Mint, from 1699 to 1727, the choice of the quotation seemed particularly appropriate."

In Canada, both Pennies ($0.01) and the 50 cent coins are not in actually in circulation. Just Nickle, Dime, Quarter, Loonie and Toonie. If you attempt to pay with a 50 cent coin or pennies no company has to take them. The banks will destroy them.
