Also very easy and no stress game, resources are unlimited so it's all about the planning and logistics, you can make it sloppy or have a perfectly tuned and 100% efficient factory. That 400h playthrough I only tapped like 20% of the nodes on the huge map the whole time was just building and trying to make everything fit and work.

The thing about Planet Crafter, is that there is *never* a time in the game where you are not achieving something, unless you run out of power (which only happens if you place too many power consumption items). There's always a way out (deconstruct whatever you just crafted, or make more power generators if you have available materials). So, anytime you are trying to do anything in the game, you are making progress -- Heat, Pressure, O2 are all going up and so is the TI by extension. So, are you walking around gathering materials? TI is going up and making progress towards unlocking stuff that you can build to get *more* TI. Are you exploring a ship? Are you just walking from place to place? During all of that, you are still making passive progress. The entire game is all about "how can I make that passive progress, Faster?" But the Food and Hunger mechanics are there to make sure you can't just sit AFK in your base and exploit the passive progress without at least some work. Now, later on when you get things like the water collector or water purifiers, and when you get enough Food Growers that you no longer need Space Food, you can just check the game every 5-10 minutes, but progress would be extremely slow without building new stuff because of the way the progress meters actually work. It uses the Metric System, like you start out with TI then you get to kTI, then MTI, then GTI. Sure, ticking up by 0.50 kTI seems fast... until you hit 1 MTI and the meter stops moving all the sudden because it takes 20 seconds to get 0.01 MTI. Also, yes, the rockets stack but they give you diminishing returns so you can't just launch 100 of each rocket and get 50 MTI/sec from just rockets, it doesn't work like that. After about 3-5 rockets it really slows down the gains from each rocket, and at that point the only reason to do them is to get more Uranium/Iridium if you're running low on it. Guess what I'm trying to say is that the game _wants_ to give you reasons to work towards building stuff you just unlocked, and the game makes sure that you won't be using obsolete tech because each tier of items is made in such a way that there's (almost) never a reason to use outdated tech with a few exceptions: 1). Windmills: I use these as markers so I don't get lost as much, marking hard to find stuff, like caves. They're tall and easily seen from a distance and only cost 1 iron. 2). T1 Solar Panels pre-Ore Extractor, because the T2s require aluminum which can be a bit scarce until you get the first ore extractor. Some players complain about how power plants and machines can be placed anywhere in the world, and how that is unrealistic, but I like that mechanic: It removes a lot of busywork of messing with wiring and fiddling with placement, and/or cluttering your base up with lots of ugly machines. I still find myself building machines near my base when I don't need to out of sheer habit but I've been getting better with that lately. It's a very refreshing change from other games of having to worry about having stuff placed in the right places. I think in TPC, the only things that you need to care about where they are placed are the mapping screens (since they only show you a map centered on the screen's location), and anything having to do with water (because, well, duh, you need to put these on the surface of water), and the ore extractor (different locations give you different ores). The rest? plop it down whereever. Make a small shed in various locations and stick heaters and stuff in them to make them an o2 rest stop and a box to store heaters in, lol.

Bricky, please see that i utilized please instead of pls because it is of urgent matter to tell you that the deep rock galactic craving is also supported by intricategamemechanics™ like juggling dots with driller wavecooker or making movement a precious resource with the leadstorm overclock. Its also vital to now that waiting for a specific overclock is objective headpain.

I had the same experience with Mon Bazou over a year ago. It seemed like an interesting game, had overwhelmingly positive reviews, so I bought it. I thought I got scammed when I first started playing it, but after about ten hours I was absolutely obsessed. Making a maple syrup empire, growing weed and potatoes, raising favor with your mom and neighbors, building your car, all of these are extremely slow processes that eventually snowball into this addictive loop, and at some point Mon Bazou was the only thing I could think about

mate, what ever you do, dont even step close to factorio, you will irl die of either dehydration, starvation or over exhaustion while trying to increase science production by 1.2583%

Thank you for describing it as a dopamine drip. Were it not for that, I would have fallen right into the jaws of the hungry beast. But you made me see the truth, so I'll keep my distance (and my mental health).

I love how if you've been partaking in both Bricky's personal content and Adeptus Ridiculous for the past year and a half or so you can FEEL exactly when Bricky started playing DeepRock Galactic. No joke. I dare you, find it for me. I already know when that was!

Hey Bricky, if you liked this game, you may like a game called Genesis Alpha One. It’s a space sim/base builder where you create your own ship and fend off aliens and such. You can even go planetside to gather materials. It’s not exactly the same, but I think you would like it.

planet crafter is basically reverse factorio where you watch resources grow from nothing or subnautica but no water part

If you enjoy this kind of thing you might enjoy Dyson Sphere Program. Only the barest remnant of a survival system in an energy system, but the game is ABOUT running into production challenges and overcoming them with ever newer and more efficient technologies until you are mining entire solar systems for reasources, maintaining an intergalactic network of production, and enclosing suns in ever larger and more elaborate dyson spheres. Took me about 300 hours to get bored with it, then they released an update with new toys and I got dragged right back in.

Yesss , i love this game and i have been so focused on it the last week its crazy. I stared it months ago then got distracted and came back after more updates. So far i am at the keys but i wont spoil anything for anyone. The way i can create and see the changes firsthand both initially and long tern keep me coming back for more. Its a great game to play on stream because it offers hours of game play and peaceful entertainment.

Hear someone say “Rock and Stone” and automatically feel the need to reply ROCK AND STONE!!! Without thinking…. Man, I really need to leave the cave and touch some of that “grass” thing I've heard some much about.

I don't like that you are blocking a good portion of the screen.. but I love that you're excellent at explaining the depth of this game. Thank you for the excellent explanation + Review. and detailed info, and knowledge of the creators.

You've probably been told this but, Factorio has a nickname among it's community, Cracktorio, for a very good reason.
