hey everyone george clanton here and i just wanted to chime in and say i disagree with the takeaway that the interviewer is doing a bad job. i think it artificially looks a lot more tense than it really was in there because you cant see both of our faces at the same time, and the crowd is too small to make for a laugh track. me and the interviewer met and had a few drinks before the show so we were just mid-chilling at this moment, having already gotten to know each other. when i watch this i think it looks like im being a dick to the interviewer, but i dont mean to. when i say "i dont want to talk about that" i was just trying to belittle myself for how boring my equipment is. i had fun doing this!
@100Electronica6 жыл бұрын
like thats what was so funny when he started to pivot to the "spin doctors" because we were talking about them before the cameras started rolling😂

I first stumbled across George in the summer of 2021....and fell in love with everything. And then kinda lost track. Then....I Been Young comes out, I'm instantly in love again, more that ever...and I've just been watching all his old interviews and checking out all the previous music. And wow... He's _such_ a creative charismatic stubbornly unique human being. I love people like this. He's like this odd mix of Jack White, Billy Corgan, Jay Gordon(the lead singer of Orgy), and...Grimes! There's very much an archetypal chaotic wicked smart trickster thing going on with him. I love it. I love severely unique people who are just....not doing or being what everyone else is, and are cooler than the rest of us. George Clanton, Aurora, Ethel Cain...people who are in their own world, but also kinda geniuses who need to flourish. And should. Ok...I'm rambling now.

Glitchin AintEasy right? I've been listening to him for years and watching him sing these songs so emotionally is amazing. It might not be perfectly in key but it's so raw and powerful and just awesome to see him do it.
@hope68403 жыл бұрын
HARD disagree. George is a God in the studio, and at concerts/shows, but these kind of close cut performances are really not George's forte, IMO. I still listened to the whole thing and am a huge fan, but it's kinda like how Steely Dan was so perfect in the studio that they avoided live stuff - it could never hit the same

Honestly they worst comments after "FAKE" and "FIRST". Maybe they were loving the show? Maybe they don't need to pander to what people on the internet think they should do at a show? Also maybe it was 9am, maybe there were only 10 people, maybe the room was awkward... The EGO that comes out on some youtube comments.. "Dude if I was there I would of been HYPED". Fuckin relax and go see him live sometime then. lol

I’ve been to two Clanton shows-the first one in Chicago and the crowd was fucking lit. The second one he was just as good even when there were maybe 20 people in the crowd and I was one of the louder ones. Here, without anyone to feed off of, he's still going in. Just sucks the rest of the crowd (or group of co-workers?) hasn’t given themselves permission to enjoy it. No matter what he’s going to own the shit.
