I love Bride of Istanbul I love all the people who act in this loving series . I only wish I could meet them all in person I love the old stories , not the modern movies in Turkey I enjoyed Love Bird but I am so so impressed w the warmth/ family traditions / warmth/ love shown to each other I love the depth of the words spoken The language ; music , joy , dance , LOVE of family , friends Food / culture / story Traditions The actors and actresses are OUTSTANDING I hope they continue this Bride of Istanbul forever as it brings me such great joy and only wish I could meet everyone and thank them for this wonderful show . Garip brings her white daisies all the time. I remember when Faruk gave a pot of white daisies to sureyya and she and Osman planted them in the courtyard/fountain. Esma had them dug out. Wonder if they reminded her of Garip? Anyone remember that scene?

Has anyone noticed that sometimes the English subtitles don't reflect the Turkish? For example, every time a character crys out to God, the English says something inane like "the universe." Listen to Nazif's heartfelt thanksgiving--he not only thanks God but asks God to give this joy to others as well. It made me cry. But the English translation failed. In any case. I am grateful for the translation, but I wish it was more true to the a script.

That frustrates me very much too. I know enough Turkish to understand quite a few words and phrases and yet when I hear those words spoken by the characters, the translation will read totally different from what they said. I just hope the translator has gotten most of the story told correctly in English. I am grateful someone translated for sure so that I could enjoy this beautiful series but it would have been better if they had used the actual script rather than translating a rough estimate of what they heard them say.
