Can I just say a massive THANK YOU for not putting a voice over translation over the mother. Sure, I would like subtitles. But at least I could hear her actual voice and I may not have understood what she said, but the emotion, inflection, tonal change in her voice, tells me she was happy for her daughter. Again. A massive thank you. Please can we keep this up in future episodes. ❤️ This show is a comfort show for me on KZbin, and I appreciate the team that makes it all happen. The video editors, film crew, bridal consultants, brides and grooms, entourage and dress designers. You guys have all been making a girl in South Africa happy for a long time. It’s one of the few things I could bond over with my mother when I was younger. It keeps a little dream alive inside me that one day I’ll have this experience. And above all it makes me smile when someone says yes to their dress 🌸

I’m surprised SYTTD has been holding back on showing Indian market videos. Indian wedding market is by far bigger than the western markets and has such unique colours and culture attached to it. This is so modern meets traditional and it’s refreshing that we showcase the middle class of India. But I do feel it’s a bit less realistic compared to the real experience visiting shops in India and trying to be too much like the Western version. I would like to see it more accurate, (ie they didn’t talk price, they did not share her expectations on the dress or what she’s wearing it for what event, etc.) felt a bit fake. But a start nonetheless.

And there are some parts of our country where weddings happen for a month lol.. I'm so happy to see an Indian version of my ever favourite show!!! I'm from Italy but I love Indian culture so much after having traveled there a couple of times and getting so affected by it. I also love to watch shows and movies ect that come from different countries and cultures and can give me a glance and teach me something about them. Finally something that shows us that there are many cultures and traditions and many ways to celebrate and symbolize things and that normalizes interculture!!! I love to see brides in colors and another kinds of style taste but the usual ones, I actually prefer this to Indian (or other cultures) brides in the States for example, going to the shops we're used to and being the surprising "weird" ones requesting a red or "odd" wedding dress, cause that depicts them as different. This bridal consultant looks very young and in my personal opinion still needs to gain more experience but he comes out as a sweet person who's there for the bride. I will now binge watch all Indian SYTTD videos, so please upload MORE!!!

If you've ever been to an Indian wedding you'd know this is only one of the many dresses they wear for the array of ceremonies and they knock it out of the park for everything. For the actual wedding they wear traditional clothes (similar/identical to what the mother is wearing), so this dress is likely for the reception where the bride gets to show off. So choosing for the reception for them is somewhat like choosing for the wedding for us. I've seen some even go western wedding style and get a white dress. I'm loving this. We are bound to see a spectacle of colours, patterns and rich designs because India's materials are first-class.

@@Seal_pup I've never seen someone do that. Indians are usually strict with their traditions and thus would mostly not try wearing anything which isn't a part of the culture on the main occasion. Forget the bride, even her friends would mostly never wear something like this on the wedding. Also Indian weddings, Hindu ones in particular involve a lot of rituals, so I highly doubt if someone can sit cross legged on the ground and perform the rituals with such clothes.

@snehanair664

@@Seal_pup Hi! Indians might not experiment a lot with the type of the dress but they do experiment a lot with the color of the dresses. You can find beautiful wedding lehenga in all different colors these days even though the traditionally it's supposed to be red. Also, these lehengas are heavily filled with embroidery/designs/beads. These lehengas are a two piece dress they usually look like a western princess gown but with heavy embroidery and beading more likely like a top and poofy full length skirt. Also, the type of dress varies according to the caste they belong to. Some might wear a lehenga while some may wear a saree or a salwaar. It totally depends on their tradition. This is such a breath of fresh air. I love the Indian ‘Say Yes to the Dress’. The structure of the experience seems a bit forced but it’ll loosen up over time. When SYttD started no one was doing runway walks in a bridal shop but things change. TV influences society.

Finally! Finally a new “say yes to the dress“ episode. I have gotten so tired of seeing newly uploaded videos that are only a repeat of what has been shown before. This bride knew what she wanted and was ready to fight for it. Each of the dresses was equally beautiful on this beautiful, sexy young woman.

I loved this show, it's one of my favorites! So when I saw from India I was so happy! I just think maybe the man who's working in the store showing the dresses, may not want to ask her every time after she tries a dress if this is "the dress"..

Asian people are so beautiful. I’m so glad South Asians finally are taking the spotlight, Americans have only been hyper fixated on East Asian culture and regarding them as the whole of Asia, when there’s so many other countries to explore! This just shows you the diversity of Indian people, white people want to say that Indians aren’t Asian because they don’t have monolids, so what about the Indians with monolids like this girl? Do we just not exist? Lmao

The purple dress looks like something you wear to prom night to me ! Or an evening dress to an event or gala night ! The dresses are very glam but doesn't scream bride to me ! In opinion !

That green dress my goodness. I WANT THAT DRESS. The thing about indian weddings are that there are so many pre wedding events and functions that brides need outfits for. Here she needed this dress not for her main wedding but one of the wedding events and i am here for all the verstile outfits for each different event.

She is gorgeous in them all but the first two can definitely pass for prom dresses here in the west. Not as wow even with all the beautiful beadwork. The cut is what really made them look more highschool dance/prom. But the green is one of the most beautiful dresses I’ve ever seen and I’m so happy she went with it. She is absolutely beautiful and I loved seeing her in all the dresses.
