Ya'll just cause she got it for free doesn't mean she can't hurt. Free or not, organized for her or not, it's her wedding that she put her trust of someone else into. For someone to step back and let someone else take control is one of the hardest things to do, especially on your wedding day. And a wedding is so so special and you want to feel beautiful. If you're insecure, uncomfortable, and feel hideous in the dress you must wear, then you would cry too.

I’m Mexican and I’m not offended but surprised as how they twisted the “Day of the Dead” concept. It’s actually a great theme for a wedding but It’s supposed to be a colorful, cheerful celebration of life, family and memories. This isn’t even close to that. Loved the bridesmaids concept tho.

Well, personally I would love the theme of Day of the dead, it is so exciting and amusing, and I would like the fact that the bridesmaids have skull makeup and I am not))) But as for the dresses I don't know. Well, we don't usually discuss wedding dresses with our fiancees, do we? If I start discussing it with mine he will be bored after two minutes and won't remember anything I said after these two minutes anyway. And as soon as you become participants of the show you are prohibited to talk to each other at all. Moreover, women often change their mind or attitide to some parts of their body and like different types of dresses in different time of their lives and for different occasions, and you may like one type of dress in general but not always you can correctly visualize who it would fit you body. For example I like satin dressess even with a few ruffles for summer holidays but I won't like similar dress for my wedding. So I believe it's really difficult for a groom to choose the proper dress.

Sara if it were done better I don't think it would seem like that. For example something more elegant and the theme acting as a symbolic gesture towards the bride's and grooms families, if that makes sense. He just pulled off a themed party in a venue that clashed. So I see your point, but I think the idea could have worked for a wedding if it was done differently.

The groom gets control over all the wedding arrangements including the bride's dress. She doesn't know about anything. The grooms usually don't try to be mean, but they somehow loose the plot rather often.

I mean I get it, we dream of this day our whole lives, most of us anyways, but idk, I think after everything we went thru, I just cant relate anymore. I used to want a perfect gown and beautiful, whimsical wedding (celestial themed had always been my dream) but then I lost my fiance back in 12-22-15, our babygirl was only 3 mths old, it has damn near destroyed me to this day. I havent been with anyone else. I see this stuff and it kinda gets to me. I'd wear a burlap sack if it meant we got a do over and I could have married the love of my life. Up till I lost him I had this whole vision of what I wanted. When I lost him that vision went out the window and all I wanted was HIM. Not some fancy dress and wedding. I'm not putting these woman down, I pray they are happily married to this day, but idk I just feel like when u have gone thru stuff like I have, the wedding becomes the last thing that's important anymore. Idk just trying to throw a diff perspective out there. It's insane how one event could change ur whole outlook on things, esp ur wedding day. And today is Fathers Day 2021, and its killing me that hes not here. Plz dont come for me in the comments. I am not trying to dog the bride's or their feelings. Like I said just trying to add a diff perspective to it. ❤

I'm so sorry for your loss, hun. You are absolutely right about what's really important. Women tend to forget that the wedding is temporary and that the actual marriage is waiting for them afterwards. I've heard of women who getting married for the ceremony alone and manipulate men into marrying them in order to leave them right after the big day. It's awful. Growing up, I never dreamt of my future wedding. A rough childhood will do that. My fiance and I have been together for 14 years and still haven't tied the knot due to financial reasons. We're in no hurry. We love each other deeply and that's all that matters. We want a small, inexpensive ceremony anyway. I wish you love and peace. You deserve happiness. 💙

@@MidnightSonnet thank u. That is so true. I actually just read about a bride who did exactly that and he proposed with a MASSSSSSIVE diamond ring that she refuses to give back. Like how can ppl act like this?! The point of a wedding is to share ur love with each other and others. It's to bring two hearts into one. It's not about dresses, cakes and who has the prettiest and most expensive venue. I would have settled for a courthouse and a small backyard bbq for our reception, as long as it meant we were together. Bc he was my home. He was my safety and my heart and soul. He was the air I breathed and the arms that kept me safe and warm at night. I would have given ANYTHING to be his wife, before I lost him. Thank u so much for ur kind words. I truly felt that in my heart. I really needed that today. 5 yrs later and the grief is just as bad as it was the day of. Heres hoping and praying to the universe for a long, happy life full of love for u and ur fiance. No need to rush! I think waiting like that makes the actual marriage even sweeter.
