Did you do anything about it? Sorry, I'm curious 😅
@pleasedt0welcome5 жыл бұрын
@@g.l.4214 I broke up with them and we don't speak any more. I think people should understand that you can still love someone with all your heart and only end up being with them for a short while and that can still have a really significant impact on you and be worthwhile. I feel like nine times out of ten we turn bitter in relationships because we don't cut them off when we should. Most relationships aren't meant to last forever, and if I knew that before and ended it I probably would've looked back on the whole thing more fondly. In fact, I think the one-time connections we make with other people in a romantic way are worthwhile because they're not forever, when we draw them out longer than they're supposed to last for is when we suffer. I do believe eventually we'll find the right person, but before you find that person I think it's beneficial to just take an easygoing approach to intimacy and stuff like that. But ultimately a comment like this isn't going to get you to adopt this kind of view, you have to experience it yourself and come to that conclusion yourself. Sorry if this bored you haha, good luck with your life wherever you are

I did long distance for a year before moving in with my lovely bf. That year was so hard and seemed to go on forever. Now I feel as if I've blinked and we've lived together longer than we spent missing each other. Being apart was incredibly difficult, but now I get to roll over every morning, look at him, and remember how lucky I am to be next to him and how we'll never have to be apart again. I was searching for a boyfriend for like 2 years before hand like a nut job. Then about 5 months before I met my SO I stopped looking and he just appeared. The universe will put the right person in front of u when the time is right cuz when I was looking for a bf I wasn’t in the right mental area to be with someone and once I was ready he was there. We are getting married next year.

My grandpa was a 21 year old runaway, a free spirit, he became an orphan from a really young age so he had no parents that could take care of him. He traveled a lot and had no boundaries but one time back in the late 60's he was visiting a small town, when he saw (according to him) 'the prettiest girl he had ever seen in his life', he thought "I'm going to marry her". That was my grandma, only 16 years old at the time. They knew eachother for a week and then they decided to get married. 52 years later they are still together 😤

Anyone else notice that the guys seem to fall faster than the women? Woman: “about a year and a half after we started dating.” Man: “from the moment I saw her.”
@evetats2355 жыл бұрын
Hanna Rankin I guess it implies that a higher proportion of men have a definition of love that is linked more closely to physical appearance than women do. Hence more men fall in love immediately, based on looks, then perhaps, over time, their love develops into something deeper, following that initial thrill of chasing and catching/winning the beautiful woman.

I officially met my husband at a dance, after noticing him walk by me every day for a few weeks, (turns out he walked by every day just to see me.) After multiple break ups, I decided I will not pursue relationships when I moved to Germany. I met this person, we talked a lot and me, so afraid of starting and eventually ending things, took my time. He patiently waited, and I still remember the September we spent a week camping together in high school. We sat in front of the bonfire until 2-3am, talking until the last bit of warmth burned out. Whenever I thought I told him everything I knew about myself he just wanted to know more. He empathized with me on the smallest stuff, cried for me and said he wants to be there for me from now on in whatever way possible. We didn’t have to be in a relationship or marry, he just wanted to grow as a person with me. He wanted to be there for me. That’s when I knew: this is the person. All this time I was searching when I didn’t have to at all.

@clearascrystal28735 жыл бұрын
Ask yourself 2 things: 1. If you were never going to see that person again, how would you feel? 2. Picture yourself at 55/60 years and slowing down, when you look beside you do you see that person sitting there? Falling in love is the easy part and building from that love, is worth it. Two of the most precious things that helps a relationship survive are respect and communication.
@sammitchell22635 жыл бұрын
When you feel like you cannot truly be the person you are meant to be as long as you are with them, or that you have to compromise who you are meant to become in order to settle for a future that seems still good, but not as true to yourself. Or when your life would be better (consistently) if you were single, than if you were together. That is when you leave. When you think of who you know you've always been and who you are meant to be, and this person makes you feel like you honor your childhood self, and lights a fire in your soul that will give you fuel to being who you've always known you could be. Or when your life simply cannot unfold in the most delicious way you can possibly imagine unless they are there to walk along side you in it. That is when you fight with everything you have to hold on to them. And if it makes them happier to leave, but it breaks your heart. You let them go. Because truly loving someone, means loving them on their entire journey. Not only in their journey with you.

My fiance and I have been together 12 years. In that time, especially during the first few years, our relationship was in terrible shape. Our arguments got so bad, that the police were called on us and he had to spend the night in jail. It was extremely rough, but it was a massive wake up call. I started to change after that. I started to do some soul searching and got to know myself better. When I didn't respond to his outbursts with anger anymore, he was forced to change, as well. I had to make a decision, though, about whether or not I could see the relationship working out. With how it was going, the outcome didn't seem so good if we stayed. However, I was also very much aware of his traumatic childhood, which I knew played a part in his actions and words. He never fully let go of that trauma, so it consumed him and made him angry, bitter, frustrated, and resentful towards life and the parents who caused it all. You can bet we had a long discussion about this. I told him that I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt, because I loved him very much and wanted to see him heal. But that I also wasn't gonna take anymore verbal abuse. So I told him that he needed to seek help for his anger issues and that we needed to work on communication. The fact that he even bothered taking an anger management class showed that he didn't want to lose our relationship. Fast forward to now, we've made leaps and bounds in his healing, but still have a ways to go. He's far more relaxed and our communication is so much better. There's so much more healing that we both need, but I want to take that journey together. We're very much in love and want to do what it takes to make our relationship last. So, while it's all individualistic, your instincts know when it's best to leave someone or stay. Your gut is never wrong. You have to decide what feels right. Weigh the pros and cons if you must, but again, go with your gut. And always do what's right for you.

When you know life would NOT be better if they are out of the picture. When you want them around when things are bad. When you feel hurt if things are not right between you. Can't imagine life without him/her. This is assuming you are in a healthy not abusive relationship And you are willing to sacrifice comforts or riches for that person so long you are content together
@sukritidayal91415 жыл бұрын
Samantha Rovai Well what you should think about is whether the good times the tough times. If objectively, you had to close your eyes and say how do you feel about being with this person? If the overall sentiment is yes, then the tough times are worth it. Otherwise maybe some introspection is needed? The other thing would also be to think about what is causing the hard times - if it’s caused by a situation like long distance , then the situation would change or is the difficult due to someone’s personality trait ? In the second case, both have to work to reach some sort of middle ground - be more accepting and conscious of how their behaviour impacts the other. Sometimes the fact that someone is making the efforts to be with you is enough. Of course, all this is assuming that the relationship is healthy and you have strong feelings towards each other.

And a couple of months later he texted me and said he wanted to talk, me being scared and feeling bad (and sick) , said I'd meet him outside, and after some time waiting, I said I'd only give him a couple more minutes before I walked back home. And he ran the rest of the way to make it (almost 6 km) The fact that he ran, just for the opportunity to talk to me, when I had been the bad guy. That is the moment I realized how much he meant to me, and I realized I was going to marry this man. And we are this summer (if corona pisses off)

One evening I wanted to add my good friend Tomas to Facebook, and added up accidentally adding the wrong person. In the morning it said "Tomas from Canada has accepted your friend request". And I thought to myself...Canada? That's about 7000 kms too far! But then I saw him, and thought " i know you". Which was really irrational for me, since I have a very sober personality/mentality. I messaged him, and found out his personality was even more incredible. We ended up sending each other long emails, which turned into video calls till 9 am, and even handwritten letters. After a few months he flew over to see me, and it was like coming home. He threw away his return ticket, and stayed with me for 2 months. I visited him for 2 months and only went back to my Country to empty my apartment, and move with just two suitcases filled with clothes and small items. That year we got married and had our first child. 7 years later, and we are more in love than ever. I know it is rare, and I would never tell someone to just meet up with strangers. I think some of these people defined love differently than others. Like some of them were clearly saying they were in love like "they felt something" and some of them meant it as "I knew I would spend the rest of my life with them". Maybe for that year and a half she just thought this was a nice relationship and she had feelings for the other person but didn't know it would last that long.

We were best friends for about 2 years in high school, then I liked him without telling him for another year. We went to junior prom together “as friends” and ended up kissing for the first time. We lived 5 hours apart so we decided to take a few weeks to decide whether or not we wanted to pursue a relationship, and we’d talk about it when we got together again in a few weeks at a Rangers game we were planning on going to. We talked nonstop the whole two weeks and I missed him so much, and when we got together at the game two weeks later we were so happy to be together, we had no doubt in our minds that we wanted to seriously date. I have a picture from that day of us hugging and him kissing me on the forehead and me grinning like an idiot and honestly I think I knew that day that I was in love with him. We’ve been together for 8 1/2 years, married for 4, and I’m pregnant with our first child ❤️

"About 4 months ago I think..." LOVE IT. These people are all so cute. I want to find love like this. Hell, I'd settle for someone who is honest, loyal, respectful, and kind.

That..my friend, is not settling....that's like hitting the jackpot...as soon as you find that never let that person go and love them as much as they love you 😊
