Bridge Building - Old School Building in Ark's The Underdogs 57

Hey, how's it going everyone?! Welcome to Soloing the Ark. I'm Phlinger Phoo. In The Underdogs series, I plan on seeing just how far the Dino's no one ever cares about can actually go. Can Hyena's Take on the Broodmother? Can Calicotherium fight the Overseer? Can you run the caves with just an Iguanodon? I plan on finding out, for the little guys, the dreamers, for the UnderDogs! I look forward to testing out so many things in this challenge!

A funny thing I found out during my boss fights. Do not put veggie cakes inside your hurt carnivours, they will eat them and GET NOTHING (good day sir!) for it. Give them cooked meat instead,it heals slightly more than raw.

If you wanted it to look structurally supported you could run another stairs parallel underneath just one foundation separated and extend stone rails down from top to underneath stairs closing up the gap and making it look structurally supported. I used a similar process to create underwater pins attached to ocean platforms in vanilla by having one platform come in contact with the shore and building from there outward.

Then he have to use S+ and he wants to have this series “vanilla”. But I agree, once you start using mods like S+ life’s gets a little easier in Ark.

Always enjoy watching you build. I did a massive bridge to Red Ob with foundations in the water. Made walking dino's over there so much easier.

I just started building inside the floating islands on Crystal Isles (in one of the mushroomy caves) and it's so calming and so fun and so pretty in there... Only problem is I have a pack of Griffins that do nothing but stand around judging me..... 😁

Idk why it was so enjoyable to get to see you die in a play though. It feels like it almost never happens in your videos and yet when I took on the cave of the strong, I died so many times. And I know that is probably what ark is best know for.

I think the oviraptor is under your foundation. I would hear him whenever you walked over the other corner when you were putting up the walls. Love your building episodes and the whole series.

Feeding troughs are great for storing stone. They have 60 slots as opposed to 45 in large storage boxes.

You can drop pillars to lowest point then pick up the first before you have to demolish, it helps save resources.

I remember the season 4 ( think it was) base you built there I did my best to do the same and well I hated the pillars thing s+ works great but with no mods its rough building and then I spent all that time with the pillars and what not to realize that it wasn't even close lining up then I accidently cut off the metal spawns lol I was just starting out in ark at that time also off topic same place after I built that I didn't know that alpha raptors could be tamed and had trapped on level 80 at the low part which proceeded to destroy my trap and then ate all of my rexes before I was able to kill it all of those tranq darks and repairs to my riffles hehe . it was a long learning curve for me hehe the good old days when all raptors pounced

Hey Phlinger I was wondering if you've ever had an issue with all the engrams in the crafting window becoming unsorted? Whenever I try to craft something I have to search for it. I can not reorder them to be alphabetical or anything. Its as if the sorting option has been deactivated.

Someone please help! I am in Single Player, going from Island to Ext, upload my char and when I loaded in to Ext, game crashed hard. I reload and Ext tries giving me a new char, my guy is gone. Do I go back to Island, what do I do?

I'm sorry. I think you lost your character. As I understand it... When you export your character, it's moved from map/savegame folder to an external file folder, deleting the original. Importation is the same. The character is moved from the external folder to the new map/savegame folder, the external copy getting deleted. If the game crashes before it autosaves, the character is lost. Someone with more experience/knowledge than I do might be more help. Maybe there's a file recovery tool that can undelete the character if you can find out the exportation file location. (I'm guessing at this.) If you continue playing, backup your save game before exporting (I use SyncBack Free). You can also manually force a save through console command "admincheat saveworld". Use this the second you load into the new map. Sorry I can't be of more help. Good luck.

Your old character is gone if it was never saved to disk on the new map. You can create a new character and claim ownership of your tribe by looking at any structure owned by it and running the following command: aim at one of the structures and type : " forceplayertojointargettribe 0 " - this command doesnt work if a tribe is empty, in this case you need to use the command "TakeAllStructure" and "TakeAllDino" commands and use experience commands to regain your levels In the future, use this command everytime you enter a new map to avoid this problem saveworld Dont put dinos on the dino obelisk tab , put then on a cryopod and use the item tab to avoid losing dinos or crashing when downloading a dino i think using those commands will not give you imprint bonus on breed creatures, the best way is always save often and backup the saves folder everyday Another trick you can do is upload one char on the obelisk and create a new one, use commands to have both in the same tribe to avoid the tribe being empty and you can keep the imprint bonus on the whole tribe , you can swap characters anytime if you upload the current char before changing, i use this to have one "crafting" char ready as backup when i need, having the transmitter in your base remove all the obelisk run troubles
