I have watched a dozen videos on removing bridges and using heat and no heat and am constantly amazed that the so called "Luthiers " have taken basically no steps to protect the guitar top surface. Some put masking tape down but only around the bridge but not further out. Others that use putty knifes that are completely the wrong tool to use. They proceed with the assumption that the bridge will just pop off with disregard to the guitar top wood coming with it. So if the guitar they show is actually a customers I hope they never return to have more work done. But, I guess the actual guitar is one they picked up for their video and were too lazy to take the time to properly protect the guitar and use the right tools even if it means showing a tool they made themselves to get the job done.

What's the brand of guitar? I just noticed my bridge today was pulled up in back so I threw so wood glue on a pick and kept trying to push it under it's a mess now, I was thinking that it would have been attached better with a piece of wood running through or something was not sure if you could do what you did. Then I put a towel on top and threw some heavy weight cuz I dont have all your fancy tools wish I would have looked at this earlier. Oh btw my guitar is a whashburn and was wondering if that's common 4 that brand to have that problem. Great Video thx

It's been a while , but I do believe it was a Washburn.This problem is certainly not unique to this brand though. This is likely something your local guitar repair man would do .Check their pricing -it might be worth your while to get it lifted and re-glued. Also they would check the bridge plate inside the guitar for wear at the string balls. If the string balls are not "onto" , but in fact "into" the bridge plate, this could be the reason the bridge has lifted.Thanks for watching
