Did Cersei kill Melara Hetherspoon by pushing her into a well after Maggy the Frog told them their futures? #asoiaf #gameofthrones #twow

Tomorrow: The Wheel of Time Teaser drops!!! ahhhhhhh!!!! Trust me. This show is going to be sooooooo sick Hey everybody - This one is just a tangent while I was rereading chapters for the next ASOIAF video. Also, sorry for being MIA in the last few ASOIAF video comment sections. There are 4 more ASOIAF videos after this one that are indirectly or directly related to Maegor, and I want to get out the main Maegor Hypothesis that started this rabbit hole before reviewing all your comments. Otherwise, I may end up falling down other rabbit holes and forget to finish off my main Maegor video. But please keep commenting because I have all the videos still open in separate windows and plan on reading every comment in all these ASOIAF videos once I finish the 4th ASOIAF video from now. Until then, keep smiling =))

The funny thing to me is that Cersei could’ve beaten the prophecies just by not killing Melara that night. I think it’s an interesting look into her character that she’s so narcissistic that she can’t even think of how someone else’s prophecy could affect her own and by being so selfish she ended up condemning herself to the prophecies coming true by sealing Melara’s fate.
@yoishikakatshihe64022 ай бұрын
how not killing Melera would have save her for the prophecy ? ( serious question )
@chrisrubin64452 ай бұрын
@@yoishikakatshihe6402 Maggy prophesied that Melara would die that day, then Cersei killed Melara later that day. If Melara did not die that day (Cersei not killing her), that would be proof to Cersei that Maggys' prophesies were lies, therefore saving Cersei from the prophesy. The only reason ANY of the predictions come true, is because Cersei MAKES them come true by believing they are real and trying to avoid them. Classic greek tragedy formulae.
@nikitabreslin45682 ай бұрын
Also, she specifically remembers her screams and accusing eyes. The day would have been a lot less memorable without murder

Classic self-fulfilling prophecy Though to be fair I don't see how the past about marrying the king (Robert) could have been avoided
@amywinehouse1732Ай бұрын
@@yoishikakatshihe6402Imo 🤔 It would’ve been avoided because it would rewrite history. Her friend liked Jamie. What if she lived and Jaime getting with her stopped them (Cersei) from having those 3 children? That’s how I see it anyway. But this is a real witch, not play play Miss Cleo type witch. Her predictions are frightfully accurate because she’s using blood magic. She even warned her first to leave. That’s the most accurate read you could give someone.

Another indication is that Cersei remembers hearing her in the well. Had Cersei not been complicit, she could have gone and run for help and some of her father’s guardsmen could probably have rescued Melara. I suppose alternatively, the fall could have been an accident, but Cersei just decided to leave her to die to conceal the prophecy and keep Melara away from Jaime though.

One thing that's certain is that GRRM believes in self fulfilling prophecies. Cersei causes all the events Maggy predicts. Cersei killed Melara. Cersei chooses not to stop at 2 or go for 4 children. She chooses to have 3. Cersei talks Jaime into the kingsguard, leaving Aerys without Tywin to prevent or deal with the rebellion that made Robert the king she'd marry. Dany is the queen who will kill Cersei, but Dany would've died in Qarth if Cersei hadn't fired Ser Barristan. Jaime is the valonquar. Cersei driving Jaime to kill her is basically their entire arc.

Women in Westeros drink moon tea if they don't want to get pregnant. Plus, in the books, Cersei mentions that she had an abortion when Robert got her pregnant.
@hypatiakovalevskayasklodow91953 жыл бұрын
@@amylocke6877 There are other ways of contraception than chemical, they use the pull out method when she's banging it on with poor Lancel, that one is effective 80%. And the way she's living after Joffrey dies, I wouldn't be surprised if she messed up her hormones so much she's not even ovulating any more. But any way, they also know that there are regularities in "moonblood", there is evidence of that in Dany's last chapter in DwD, which means they can also use the counting method. Bottom line, there are different types of birth control than moon tea.

Whoa, that fits so perfectly to Cersei. I've never heard that take before, Kev. George is a master, whether his intentions are "intentional", or not. Im amazed how he absorbes each characters mentality, in order to write each chapter. I understand why it has taken him so long to finish. Your ending gave me chills.

I all ways took it as Cercei got Tywin to kill Melara rather than did the deed herself or Tywin killed her because she said stuff about Cercei. "Well " line is compelling, but I always thought it was because Cercei was a witness. Any of the ways I suppose, Cercei killed her.
@distantraveller9876Ай бұрын
Why would Tywin have Melara killed for no reason?
@mistermaestersirthomas9164Ай бұрын
@@distantraveller9876 because he had a reason… One: for taking Cercei to Maggi and probably not snitching. Two: because Tywin, himself, has secret interactions with Maggi that he doesn’t want Cercei and Jaime to know about : like how they are Aerys’ kids, Tyrion isn’t Joanna’s kid, Maggi’s descendant’s spicer girl is Tyrion’s actual mother, Tywin maybe murdered Joanna or exiled her (Green Grace or Brienne’s mother? Maybe), and Maggi knows Tywin’s plot to birth a Lannister king of Westeros and/or return Westerlands as a separate Kingdom . All of that is why there is an Woods Witch in Noble-child’s-slip-away-from-handlers-distance away from Casterly Rock, the keeping up with appearances Andal Seven Worshippers (which Tywin should have “removed” from anywhere near there as common practice since they aren’t accepting of the old Gods).

I always assumed Tywin killed her mirroring Randell killing the warlocks, both thought the magic was a lie: Tyrion not a king as predicted/Sam not a great warrior as promised both of course did/will come to pass. Anybody have clue of Maggy's fate, other than Kevan's assumption?

You don't need to see the future to know that Tyrion was never going to be king and Sam was never going to a great warrior lol
@mistermaestersirthomas9164Ай бұрын
@@distantraveller9876 after Cercei/Daenerys goes down and Aegon(Jon) and Drogon jet, Bran will be king. Bran won’t marry or have kids and it was the dragons the seven kingdoms knelt to anyway, so Westeros will become seven kingdoms; thereby Tyrion will become king of the Westerlands, in the future. As for Sam, he is already a great warrior since he defeated a White Walker in single combat, right? Sam the Slayer… is how the books will record him… since he will be writing those books.

What Melara said might have been true but I wonder if she told the Weirdwood network what happened by the simple fact of dying and having her soul absorbed....seems like once you die all your secrets and truths become privy to the soil.....and the Old Gods Cersei wanted to kill Maggy but instead killed her friend...or maybe Maggy did...

I always get excited for your videos! Even if it covers topics I’ve heavily considered myself. I’m sure you have covered it somehow already, but if you ever take a deeper look into the Dorne pact and Dany’s weir memories about Bravos, there was something I traced a while back. The pact was signed by the Sealord of Bravos. Traced the wiki on history of Sealords to find out who it was. Something VERY strange about his name, when you scramble the letters…there’s a few extra in there but haven’t found a reverse Valyrian translator yet to see if they mean anything. But it’s Martin. Don’t think it’s a coincidence.

The witch wasn't related to Talisa in the show. She is only related to Robb Stark's wife (Jeyne, I believe) in the book. Jayne and Talisa are two different characters. In the show he deeply loved Talisa and she was a good woman, in the books Jeyne was a Tywin spy and Robb married her because he slept with her and his honour compelled him to propose. Or maybe because she used a love potion on him, since witchcraft runs in her family.
