Hello Locutus, Generally responder making a forcing 1 Notrump call will have 6-12 points - perhaps a good 5 HCP (KQxx[x], AJxx, etc) or a tad more than 12 with a flat hand. And as we will see in the upcoming lesson #13, some players make use of a nice conventional treatment when responder has around 16 HCP and a doubleton in partner's major suit when directly responding 3 Notrump - stay tuned and be sure to check out our prior lessons on the ubiquitous Forcing Notrump call...

Interesting. I used to play precision with the Big Club in the 80's. Question: the 1NT forcing response to a 1H/S open requires or signals how many points in the 1NT's hand? I would assume 12 or 13 since they are at minimum looking at game. I started with this video, but will go back and start at the beginning. I appreciate the clear explanation and evolution over time of bidding systems. I have no partner so mainly play on the computer, and have no set system.
