I grew up right in front of where the welding truck is parked (the house is no longer there)...I remember that old orange and yellow engine very well, I can still hear the horn. Its sad to see this, you don't realize the little things that build your childhood memories. Our house sat right behind that big dead elm tree.

Did they preserve her?does anyone kno 4:50 w what happened to her? Wait a minute!their cutting her up for scrap!so sad to see these rare diesels getting cut up! She could have been rebuilt and put back in service. What a shame!

Yea they didn’t save the engine unfortunately. They figured it was better to just salvage what parts they could and let the rest go.
