Thanks Bryan! I too, live in a humid environment... Arkansas. Except for really cold winter hikes, in which I wear leather GTX Zamberlans, I opt for LaSportiva trail runners myself. The Krebs are a great boot as well! Thanks again for the beta and hope u continue to make the great movies!

Another great video! I'm headed up to the Winds next week and I have no Idea really where to go. I'll be going back in for a few weeks, I think, and I could sure use some advice on good areas to make loop trips of. I do plan on fishing for food, so if you have any advice on that as well, It would really be appreciated. Thank you for taking the time to describe in great detail what you do in your youtube productions!

Really have enjoyed your videos! I'm planning a trip to the WRR late Aug/Sep. curious, do you use a bear canister. Appears you prefer to hang your bag. Also, what is your preferred footwear for the WRR late summer? Thanks in advance for any info you can share.

Thanks Timothy, glad you enjoyed my videos. No I do not use a bear canister. I hang my food bag with a method described in this video: kzbin.info/www/bejne/imqvZYKIgJtlpa8. It can be a challenge above tree line, but I've always manage to find a tree to use, although once I could only to get the food bag about 5 feet off the ground. There is not a big bear population in the Winds, particularly in the southern district. In eight backpacking trips to the Winds I've only seen one bear and it was running away from me as fast as it could. As far as boots, in the winter I wear a pair of water proof Asolo boots, In spring, summer and fall I wear a pair of Keen mid-top boots that are not water proof, but very comfortable. I've found that once water gets in a water proof boot it takes for ever for the water to get out. For me rain pants are too hot to wear in warm weather and I just wear shorts and water runs down my legs and gets into the boots whether they are water proof or not. Also the Winds have a rather low humidity compared to the southern Appalachian Mountains where I live, and things dry very quickly there. Hope you enjoy your trip to the Winds. It's a fantastic place.
