I love how every season is totally the same show, but also has its own feeling to it at the same time. They just get better and better!

Pretty sure Portia was upset about the engagement when she first heard about it because she didn't think Colin was serious about Penelope. She thought Penelope must have "trapped" him in some way because Colin couldn't possibly be in love with someone like Penelope (in Portia's opinion). And, thus, she felt like Colin might find a way to back out of it, or that his family would object to the marriage. That's why she reminded Penelope about what happened with Marina and called Lord Debling a "secure" match, because she didn't think Colin was truly committed. That's also why she asked Penelope if Colin had told her he loved her, because she was certain he hadn't and thought that would prove her point. Luckily, Colin was happy to tell Portia just how wrong she was about everything. lol!

Oh my God, I loved the scene of him telling off Portia so much lol I agree, but I also think it had to do with Portia‘s grudge against Colin in exposing her scheme!

Eloise honestly pissed me off this episode. She was a horrible friend to Cressida when she needed her help and didn’t even care that Penelope was stressed out and having a panic attack in the end. I get that Pen has to tell Colin before the wedding but did it have to be at their engagement party? Penelope just can’t catch a break.

Very true!! I think Eloise hates that she has also been lying to Colin by trying to do the right thing and give Penelope a chance to come clean, but it now seems to be turning into a revenge plot. She has such strong feelings on Penelope being a bad friend that it’s blinding her from the fact that she is being a bad friend to Cressida.

@@jessiedobbiereactions And I am honestly starting to feel really bad for Cressida. The only reason she falsely confessed to being LW was because she was trapped in an engagement to an elderly, inconsiderate man at death’s door by her parents. At this point, she’s just alone and desperate. Granted, she has done some horrible things herself in the past, but it seemed like she wanted to change a little bit.

@@garlantyrell6368 Eloise is mad that Cressida is lying & being a thief. She's stealing some1s identity & taking credit for some1 else's work just to suit her purposes. Its disgusting & dishonorable. On top of that, Eloise CANT associate w/ her on behalf of wat LW has written in the past (now that Cressida announced herself). It wud be a betrayal to herself & her family's reputation. Cressida doesnt care abt any1 but herself. As far as Pen's panic attack, Eloise cared once she realized that Pen was passing out. She probably didnt recognize the symptoms of some1 having a panic attack. Most ppl dont, unless they've either experienced it or know some1 who has. Atp, she was thinking that Penelope lied to her their entire friendship just to secure a Bridgerton.. so she had no sympathy for her. I do agree that Eloise shudnt have forced the issue at their engagement party tho. I know u feel bad for Cressida, but she was horrible & a bully long b4 she was trapped in an engagement. As soon as things didnt go in her favor, she reverted right back to her true self. Participating in writing scandalous lies abt the family, of the only friend u ever had, was the nail in her coffin. That is who she is & she wont be redeemed this season. She is the villain. Every good story needs 1.

Portia was mad at the engagement because she knew that once Penelope married Colin, she would have no control over her anymore. Lord Debling was a secure match but since he was to leave on a long trip, Portia thought she would be able to have full control over his fortunes through Penelope if she married him. Why do you think she allowed Prudence and Philippa to marry dumb but kind men? So she can still have a full say in their lives without anyone questioning her. Portia loves her daughters and wants them to be secured but she isn’t above using them to further her wealth and social status.

You see, I am utterly amazed Eloise never noticed Penelope loved her brother. Proof positive in a way just how self-absorbed Eloise is, despite her many fine qualities.

The fact that Eloise never picked up on Pens feelings for Colin is just further proof to me that the friendship was one sided. Pen was there to listen to Eloise bitch and moan about her own life but the support wasn't reciprocated. 3:17

It 100% is more important. Specifically b/c she's now thinking that Pen was only friends w/ her to secure Colin as a husband. Obviously thats not true, but remember Pen wrote terrible things abt her & then pops up next season engaged to her brother. U wudnt want ur brother marrying a snake either. Now as the audience WE know that Pen's intentions are pure, but it was gonna take Eloise a little time to understand that. She never knew that Pen loved Colin (b/c she never paid attention to her) & Colin didnt even court Penelope, so it was a complete shock. Even tho she's mostly selfish, she still cudve told Colin abt LW but she kept it to herself. She gets a million points for that in my book.

And Penelope kept telling Eloise I only wrote it to protect you in case someone else sees you it’s better coming from me ! Why is Penelope a snake ? Wow that’s going too far ! She’s an innocent human evolving into a better human ! Some people make wrong decisions and learn to do things better ! Maybe she shouldn’t have written about Eloise and let her get discovered by someone else and get her reputation ruined elsewhere ! Eloise deserve it anyway ! She only think abt herself Penelope has changed so much matured so much and wanna use her Pen To defend the voiceless now !
