Watched the video three times and my brain still melts when trying to use squares and rectangles to measure the figure... maybe it has something to do with me growing up with Rob Leifeld comic books?

So glad you acknowledged that some people cant copy well but CAN invent much better. I never liked drawing from reference beyond simply learning a concept, my art has always been much worse when i used reference as opposed to just winging it, i always felt pressured to get good at copying because literally every art teacher just screams “draw from life” in every tutorial. I can see the reasoning behind it but im being genuine when i say drawing from reference or life has been the least effective practice for my personal progression. I know there are others out there who feel the same and I wish more teachers could acknowledge it to so that teaching art can embrace more concepts than just drawing from life or reference to get good. I literally feel like my skills have dropped 10 levels when i try to draw from reference and 30 levels from life lol.

So where do you obtain your knowledge of the human figure if not from life and not from reference? Please explain. I think it is impossible. For now I think you are high so you feel like you are great when you really suck. Enlighten me to your truth.
