@@gibbosroadtripadventures just installed a 1500W inverter yesterday actually so we can start enjoying a few little comforts and go a bit more remote, it's getting out of hand what is being charged to stay at places that offer very little to no facilities, so trying to set up for cheaper places to stay. Your videos help with locations and I love that you and your husband love to get away every chance you can and do so much while away... Unfortunately I usually enjoy too much happy hour 😁

Hi Marg and Hubby, Bruinbun well there is a blast from the past. I camped there many times as a teenager back in the 60s, then as an adult in the 70s and 80s. My brother and I used to camp there with our families back in the early 80s. Then we moved to the port Macquarie Region in 86 on to a farm where we bred cattle for many years.. Back in those early days Monahans Bluff was open but that climb up the hill was a little nerve wracking as there was a sheer drop of 150 feet or so down into the river on the left side. You did not want to meet a car coming from the other direction when you were half way up. We used to shoot across the river, from where you were camped on Bruinbun, back in the 60s and 70s. We spent many a night looking up at the stars while laying back in our swags till we went to sleep. There were hardly any satelites back then so if we saw one it was something special. Thank you Shelley, in answer to your question I totally recommend the Kleva for camping if you have an inverter. I love having this little cooker and hope to share more ideas as I try them in future videos. One pot cooking is the best and so far “Little Stormy” has impressed me. Cheers Marg

@@shelley1699 wahoo, I’m excited for you Shelley. The internal bowl looks pretty small but seems to make a decent quantity, for the 2 of us it’s perfect. Not sure if you saw when I made fried rice in it but when it was cooked I transferred it into a large bowl to add some soy sauce and was pleasantly surprised how much it made. Enjoy! 🤗 Cheers Marg

You’re right, maybe you need to go and have a look for yourself. Where we went was fine for a trailer. There is a point where it is not suitable to go beyond with a trailer and we didn’t venture anywhere near there, as we showed in our video. We left our van behind to explore the track. You are right, there is always one!

Hi Cookie, We’ve got 2 x 120 Amp batteries & victron DC-DC charger, a 200Amp solar panel and have a 1500 watt inverter but depending on your plans would suggest a 2000+ watt inverter but be careful how you use it, especially on cloudy days. We also have a portable 150watt solar panel for an extra boost or when parked in the shade. We mainly do our cooking with gas or the camp oven and really only use the inverter minimally. So far we’ve never drained our power too much but in saying that we don’t have an air conditioner or microwave and haven’t used it for an Airfryer, so I’m not sure how much they would all drain from your power. What we have works for us. Look at what you would like the power for, ie air fryer, and check what the wattage requirement they are. With our 1500 watts we are restricted to basic appliances like my NutriBullet & the Kleva. Cheers Marg

My fly fishing days have always been quite quiet my wife not interested in caravan and camping but you guys have exactly what I would like I had. Tell me is your caravan expensive and is there a lot of expenditure in having this setup

@@antonioesposito6778 we bought our offroad caravan van second hand, which was half it’s original price, so we got a bargain for what you’d pay nowadays. Having an ensuite, as they say, was the game changer which gives us the opportunity to camp anywhere. Petrol would be our main expense for what we do. We installed an inverter & solar panel which allows us to go offgrid. We don’t have air conditioning or a heater and rarely use power other than run our bar fridge. We love a good camp fire and hot water bottles when it gets really cold. We cook with gas on the stove top & bbq. Sadly they don’t make our van anymore which is 14.6 foot but there are many small vans out there to choose from. Hope this helps and I do hope you get to go camping and enjoy it with your wife. There is an online company called Camplify where you can hire other peoples vans & caravan, it might be worth looking into. Cheers Marg

A pre warning sign at the beginning - at the 4th campground it states no trailers/caravans beyond that point as the road becomes narrow. The first 2 camps are easy and that is where you will see trailers & vans. We have been there before over the years and it’s an awesome free camp not far from Bathurst.

@@nthompson2695 hello N Thompson, may I suggest you read the first sign again, it says “Advisory Information”, therefore it is advised and not mandatory. At the 4th campground there is a sign saying “Road ahead unsuitable for caravans”, this is the point you do not continue with a trailer/caravan. If you go and visit the area you will see what it’s all about. The entry to the first campground is right at the very start and just a manageable dirt road, as is the second camp. Cheers Marg

Hi Antonio, I've only just noticed this message, so I apologise for the delay in replying. We bought our van when it was only 3 years old and managed to get it for half it's original price. Over the years Steve's added bits and pieces, etc., I call him the accessory guy. The main additional thing to help us with our offgrid camping is our inverter which we use to charge our mobiles, the drone batteries, the Nutri Bullet for my Margaritas plus our rice cooker. Our biggest expense since buying our caravan is mainly the diesel for the Landcruiser to get us to our chosen destinations, but you'd have that with a tent, etc.
