+iha asc I disagree. I just watch the movie and I feel as though it was a very difficult role to play. Jennifer's performances have not been up to par to ones like Brie's. They seem to be caricatures of herself or even a variation of the same type of role. It is becoming increasingly harder to distinguish jennifer lawerence from the person she is playing. This is only my opinion, you are free to have your own.

Room is a training wheels role. The situation of the character is so incredibly tragic that all the drama is built in. There is little interpretation. The real skill is when an actor can create that effect on their own. The characters Jennifer played in Winter's Bone and SLP and AH are hugely divergent. Brie just doesn't have the same talent, but then again Jennifer's career is very hard to compare to. She pulled off Pokerhouse at 16, Winter's Bone at 18 and SLP at 21. Of course when a star gets really big it becomes harder to put aside the person when watching a film. It is the Leo problem, but not a bad problem to have.

***** I do agree with some of the things you are saying, IMO her roles have become a caricature of herself (just my opinion). I loved winter's bone, but I felt as though SLP wasn't her most oscar worthy performance. Comparing Brie's performance to Jennifer's (Room vs. Joy) it is evident that brie gave a much stronger performance. And I would argue that it is when Brie is not in the room is when she is at her best, yes the story provides the drama but it doesn't hinder her performance.

She seems so mellow and layed back here where in the Captain Marvel/Avengers interviews shes a totally different person who seems uptight, snarky, and dismissive. I don't know if the between here and 2020, the double whaming of winning the oscar and landing a major lead part in the MCU, all went to her head and boosted her ego in the wrong ways. I suppose you've never dealt with an introvert before because in these interviews, she's all by herself so she's comfortable in answering without having to think of any other people she's being interviewed with. In the MCU promo, she's with other actors, and introverts tend to build walls to protect themselves so she tries to deflect with humor. She wasn't being snarky, it's called dry humor, which is quite a hard thing to get because dumb people don't get dry humor and take everything in literally. Don Cheadle defended her, and he understood her better than those who keep on reading into her body language. Brie is an exceptionally intelligent human, and you can see it through the way she speaks. She also tend to keep eye contact, which is intimidating to people. Unfortunately, intelligence is always seen as a threat by lesser beings.
