Dennis sipped maté from a commemorative MAXIMUM THIRST gourd and browsed the network. The cafe's terminals let you access the brokerage service if you brought your own identity tape, and Dennis was exploring new investment opportunities to distract himself from feeling foolish about purchasing the commemorative silver straw at a significant markup. It wasn't the cost that was the issue. It was the principle of the thing. The terminal told him that there was a new investment opportunity. A remote colony which had spun off and formed its own company many years ago, but which the Concern was about to re-acquire. This was an opportunity to buy in on the ground floor, acquiring a share of the wealth that was sure to follow. Dennis thought about the re-acquisition. He imagined children with their lungs and intestines inverted by the vacuum force of thermobaric cluster bombs. Whole families liquified in their housing blocks by the gamma ray projectors of perverts in skintight jellysuits. Various other cruelties after the explosions subsided to a dull roar and the surviving primitives of the colony would do absolutely anything for a drop of water and a handful of beans. He slurped his beverage and purchased 3000 shares on the spot.

@@thewolfPrince Dennis sipped his 14 dollar rabo-de-gato and watched the dancers. The sugarcane spirit, ginger beer and tart lime were meant to punish his throat, but truth be told he struggled to feel much of anything. The bar was called the Pound of Flesh and it was supposed to resemble a titty bar from Solo Nobre. This type of strip joint was common enough before the reacquisition, and had become increasingly so now that the brand was hot again. They called them "Pirate Sevens" and there was supposed to be a war coming over the intellectual property rights to the name. Dennis looked at the dancing women and recalled an article where the journalist had told him that this was not how things were supposed to be. The women, in Solo Nobre, were supposed to display scars along with nudity, acquired through brutal military service in a city at war with itself. They were meant to have strong jawlines from endlessly chewing gum laced with a local stimulant, which would help them endure the endless grind of violence and deprivation. The strippers in front of him may as well have been entertainment clones, so alike they were in their generic perfection. Dennis thought about the Nobreans killing him, with a gun or a bomb. A lightning bolt of punishment, going straight up his spine and back down again. Proof to the superstitious colonials that their Saints in their endless rows of tombs still had power. Proof to Dennis that actions had affected someone, rather than simply disappearing into the background slush of gray businessmen making a series of economic transactions. That thought, at last, gave him an erection.

Super happy Makeup and Vanity Set are back for Killers. Their original OST for Brigador is one of my favourite soundtracks of all time!

2:10 onwards pleasantly surprised me :) Makes me think of some sort of introduction or conclusion music for a John Carpenter film! Actually, it reminds me a fair bit of the music in the indy film Exode, provided by Le Matos :) Just this has a sinister aggressive feel to it rather than melancholy

Luca stared intently at the streams of condensation on his pint glass. The longer he continued, the darker the trails became, until he was back in Solo Nobre, looking into the crater of what was once his friend's Mongoose, the front plate shattered by a round from a Donkey railgun...his. He'd had a long military career; always on time, in order - a soldier, through and through. But when he and Paolo found their heavy escort torn apart by a swarm of Corvids and their Mog team not much better off, he was a frightened child, trembling and on the verge of tears. He had never before experienced bloodshed, and suddenly the ravens descended from the roost to pick the corpses of his friends. He wasn't ready. With quivering hands and ears dampening the squadnet's symphony of screams, he raised the right joystick to level with Paolo's cockpit, and squeezed the trigger. As his ears rang, he reflexively flipped on his loudspeaker, and screamed "Solo Nobre must fall!" into the crowd of rebels, who whistled and hollered in salute to his cry. The SNC was grateful. As he came to, Luca stood up and left the pub, his own cheeks streaked with rivers of sorrow, guilt, and pain. Paolo offered to buy him a beer when the uprising was crushed, and life returned to normal. Unfortunately, he did.
