Is a stir rod okay for agitation? In my lab set up we use magnetic stirs. I'm unsure if this is enough to avoid pits from gas formation?

yes better. I use a submersible aquarium pump for bigger tanks too.

It would be interesting to see the difference between two parts going through the exact same process except at the end one went into the copper electrolyte that had brightener, one went into a copper electrolyte solution without brightener.

Question: I'm restoring an old bicycle, and the rims/hubs are pitted but otherwise in good shape. If I take them to clean steel, would I be able to copper coat thick enough to withstand a least light cleaning?

Wow! I need to replace my BOWIE knife handle. Awesome. If I tape up plastic part of handle? Can I dip my knife handle in using your method? ALCE knife ( apparently brass ) handle but plated ?
