Omg please stop it with the Pickleball TV commentary in the middle of a game! It is so distracting and so unnecessary. Can you talk before the game, during a long intermission, or after? You are diluting the game viewing experience. Stop it. Even one of the commentators said that there were great pickle ball points while Johnny Pickleball was talking, which I just missed. So please stop!

If the strategy didn't work, nobody would do it. It's part of the mixed game and will always be part of the mixed game. Plus, it really has nothing to do with gender. It has everything to do with the being superior athletes and players. You'll see the same thing with same-gender doubles where there is a discrepancy with skill level with the superior player poaching balls from the lesser player. As a 5.0 player, if I was playing with Meghan (we have played lots of rec games together in the past), I would want her to play the left side and poach whatever she wanted.
